[4/3/2013 6:45:23 PM] Josie: In the first session, a fairly shady gentleman in a dark cloak in the shadowiest part of a disreputable bar hired you to go and rescue his sister, who he claimed was kidnapped. You fought a couple of monsters on the way, only to take shelter in an illusion-hidden cave during a blizzard. The cave turned out to be an entrance to the Underdark, and your employer, Kalanor, said his sister was actually abducted by Drow.
[4/3/2013 6:46:08 PM] Josie: Kalanor is going along with you. So is a silvery-grey tabby with blue eyes and also, adorably, wings. Khiro named the cat Cira and she did not seem to object.
[4/3/2013 6:47:08 PM] Jamaros: ((That leaves us in the assumedly drow ridden cave))
[4/3/2013 6:47:17 PM] Josie: Yep!
[4/3/2013 6:47:20 PM] Josie: Game page is here: http://meneluinin.wikia.com/wiki/Perpetual_Gloom
[4/3/2013 6:47:27 PM] Josie: (Though there's not a lot on it at the moment.)
[4/3/2013 6:47:34 PM] Jamaros: ((As I recall, I was leading, with Khiro right behind me))
[4/3/2013 6:47:40 PM] Khiro: Yep.
[4/3/2013 6:47:57 PM] Jamaros: ((And we were on some kind of slope))
[4/3/2013 6:48:02 PM] Josie: Khiro is holding a lantern.
[4/3/2013 6:48:51 PM] Josie: And there's a steep ramp twisting down around to your left. It would be a spiral staircase but there's no stairs, so.
[4/3/2013 6:49:19 PM] Josie: Your marching order is Jamaros, Khiro, Kalanor, Amara. And the cat is resting on Khiro's shoulder again.
[4/3/2013 6:49:41 PM] Jamaros: ((I wish to check the staircase for traps before we enter it))
[4/3/2013 6:50:20 PM] Josie: Well, there's not really any stairs, and Kalanor has claimed that the traps don't start until further down. However, you can *certainly* check, as he may well be wrong or even lying.
[4/3/2013 6:51:10 PM] Josie: You don't see any traps on the stairwell, though that could just mean that they were well-hidden. It's tough to say, and because the ramp is spiral-shaped you can't really see around the next bend.
[4/3/2013 6:51:38 PM] Jamaros: Khiro, you look like a man who knows his away around a dungeon or two.  Care to double check?
[4/3/2013 6:51:48 PM] Khiro: Khiro nods.  "Sure thing."
[4/3/2013 6:52:21 PM] Josie: Kalanor makes a face. "I don't know why you'd ever go into a dungeon voluntarily unless there was a very good reason."
[4/3/2013 6:52:36 PM] Jamaros: Treasure makes a pretty good reason.
[4/3/2013 6:52:48 PM] Jamaros: Treasure and the occasional maiden.
[4/3/2013 6:52:52 PM] Josie: Kalanor: There are easier ways to get both.
[4/3/2013 6:53:32 PM] Khiro: Theoretically.
[4/3/2013 6:53:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Actually.
[4/3/2013 6:53:47 PM] Khiro: And I don't know that I'd want a maiden I found in a dungeon.
[4/3/2013 6:53:54 PM] Jamaros: Picky.
[4/3/2013 6:54:02 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Smart.
[4/3/2013 6:54:04 PM] Amara: Sensible, not picky
[4/3/2013 6:54:23 PM] Josie: Kalanor: There used to be a succubus that hung around these very caves picking off adventurers that way.
[4/3/2013 6:54:25 PM] Khiro: I don't see anything but decent, magically worked stone.
[4/3/2013 6:54:52 PM] Jamaros: ...ok, stay close.  The staricase can be treacherous.
[4/3/2013 6:55:00 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros cautiously heads down.
[4/3/2013 6:55:26 PM] Amara: Oh yes scary staircases. I have heard one too many stories of staircases attacking people.
[4/3/2013 6:55:31 PM] Amara: Amara rolls her eyes, but follows
[4/3/2013 6:55:52 PM] Jamaros: Try walking down one without stairs.
[4/3/2013 6:55:56 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Her old lair makes an excellent resting spot. When we get there we should probably stop for the day. ... they say she fell in love with a paladin and went topside to follow him, but frankly I think that's ridiculous and highly unlikely to be true.
[4/3/2013 6:56:17 PM] Josie: This one doesn't really have stairs. It's roughly-formed enough that it's easy going, though.
[4/3/2013 6:56:24 PM] Josie: Cat: Mrow.
[4/3/2013 6:56:26 PM] Jamaros: Yes, completely ridiculous.  Probably makes it true.
[4/3/2013 6:56:40 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Folk songs aren't meant to be taken literally.
[4/3/2013 6:58:23 PM] Josie: You head down the ramp, and though it's a bit steep the going is pretty easy. It seems to take a very long time, and then, finally, the path levels off, and ahead of you, there's a large door, very heavy and black, with rust-covered hinges, knockers and handles.
[4/3/2013 6:58:42 PM] Khiro: Is this the lair you were talking about?
[4/3/2013 6:59:16 PM] Josie: Kalanor: No, it's much further ahead. This is the way to the Underdark.
[4/3/2013 6:59:28 PM] Khiro: Oh, good.
[4/3/2013 6:59:32 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... after this door, that's where the traps start, though last time I went down the first hallway, it was safe.
[4/3/2013 6:59:35 PM] Khiro: Khiro inspects the door.
[4/3/2013 6:59:45 PM] Amara: ....Last time?
[4/3/2013 7:00:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor shrugs. "I've been through these caves before."
[4/3/2013 7:00:14 PM] Jamaros: ((Would it be a notice check to listen through the door?))
[4/3/2013 7:00:18 PM] Josie: Yep!
[4/3/2013 7:00:30 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros presses his ear to the door
[4/3/2013 7:00:40 PM] Khiro: ((Brb, someone is at the door.))
[4/3/2013 7:01:59 PM] Josie: Cat: Mrorwlwwl, mrrow.
[4/3/2013 7:02:08 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros shushes the cat
[4/3/2013 7:02:35 PM] Josie: The cat rolls her eyes and flaps up into the air, landing on Jamaros's head.
[4/3/2013 7:02:58 PM] Jamaros: I've decided, I don't care for this cat anymore
[4/3/2013 7:03:15 PM] Khiro: I suspect that she does not care what you think of her.
[4/3/2013 7:03:19 PM] Jamaros: ((I got disconnected from Roll20, signing back in now))
[4/3/2013 7:03:31 PM] Amara: (( I got disconnected too))
[4/3/2013 7:03:40 PM] Josie: The cat mews adorably, and then launches herself back into the air, landing back on Khiro's shoulders, neatly.
[4/3/2013 7:03:46 PM] Josie: ((Ditto.))
[4/3/2013 7:03:55 PM] Jamaros: ((Back))
[4/3/2013 7:04:18 PM] Amara: (( would you consider this particularly...shadow-y at all? ))
[4/3/2013 7:04:18 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Shall I open the door?
[4/3/2013 7:04:39 PM] Jamaros: Khiro, did you find anything of note?
[4/3/2013 7:05:24 PM] Jamaros: ...I guess not.
[4/3/2013 7:05:38 PM] Khiro: No, no I did not.
[4/3/2013 7:05:51 PM] Jamaros: Ok, sure Kalanor, open the door.
[4/3/2013 7:06:04 PM] Josie: Kalanor steps forward and opens the door!
[4/3/2013 7:06:30 PM] Josie: ... or tries to. It sticks a bit, and he rams it with his shoulder. ... being a somewhat scrawny elfy type he bounces off, but on the second ramming attempt, the door opens.
[4/3/2013 7:06:53 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros peeks into the room
[4/3/2013 7:07:54 PM] Khiro: I'll take the lead from here so I can spot any traps before anyone trods on them.
[4/3/2013 7:08:01 PM] Josie: It's dim and shadowy in there!
[4/3/2013 7:08:17 PM] Josie: But it looks like the tunnel leads straight to your left.
[4/3/2013 7:08:19 PM] Jamaros: What's that supposed to mean?
[4/3/2013 7:08:25 PM] Jamaros: ((To Khiro))
[4/3/2013 7:08:41 PM] Khiro: It means I assume you'd rather not step into pits of acid or whatnot.
[4/3/2013 7:09:03 PM] Jamaros: *grumble grumble* fine.
[4/3/2013 7:09:20 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I would prefer not to, so both of you should keep your eyes open. There's enough room for two people to go first.
[4/3/2013 7:09:33 PM] Jamaros: Sounds like a plan
[4/3/2013 7:09:35 PM] Khiro: Fair enough.
[4/3/2013 7:09:50 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros heads carefully down the tunnel
[4/3/2013 7:10:16 PM] Jamaros: ((brb))
[4/3/2013 7:10:35 PM] Khiro: Khiro goes along, watching the floor and ceiling for anything suspect.
[4/3/2013 7:10:57 PM] Amara: Amara follows along, glad she has an owl for these type of conditions!
[4/3/2013 7:11:28 PM] Josie: You all head down the tunnel, none too quickly. Kal looks impatient but doesn't say anything, likely realizing that he doesn't want to end up in an acid pit either.
[4/3/2013 7:11:33 PM] Josie: Cat: Mrowl.
[4/3/2013 7:11:41 PM] Jamaros: ((back))
[4/3/2013 7:12:03 PM] Josie: It takes a moment or two at the slow, sensible pace, but eventually, you reach another door. This one looks brand-new, and it also looks like it's made of iron.
[4/3/2013 7:12:25 PM] Jamaros: Here' let me inspect it first.
[4/3/2013 7:13:11 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros checks for traps, then listens closely at the door.
[4/3/2013 7:13:13 PM | Edited 7:14:33 PM] Josie: Kalanor frowns. "I don't... remember this being here before."
[4/3/2013 7:14:01 PM] Khiro: The door?
[4/3/2013 7:14:29 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Yes.
[4/3/2013 7:15:20 PM] Khiro: Hrm.
[4/3/2013 7:15:27 PM] Khiro: How long since you were here last?
[4/3/2013 7:15:45 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Only a few days. Long enough for me to get to Crailston.
[4/3/2013 7:16:37 PM] Amara: Well that is odd...  Jamaros, do you notice anything odd?
[4/3/2013 7:16:56 PM] Jamaros: There's definitely a trap here.  Dart trap, I think.  Probably poisoned.
[4/3/2013 7:17:14 PM] Jamaros: I am more concerned about what's on the other side though.
[4/3/2013 7:17:28 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... why? What's on the other side?
[4/3/2013 7:17:36 PM] Jamaros: I have no idea.
[4/3/2013 7:17:56 PM] Jamaros: Might be nothing, might be a batallion of guards, might be a dragon for all I know.
[4/3/2013 7:18:05 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks over the door.
[4/3/2013 7:19:10 PM] Jamaros: If you know how to search for them this well, you can probably disable the trap.
[4/3/2013 7:19:17 PM] Josie: Kalanor: A dragon wouldn't fit in there.
[4/3/2013 7:19:29 PM] Jamaros: Could be a small dragon.
[4/3/2013 7:19:32 PM] Khiro: Khiro nods, and gets to work disarming it.
[4/3/2013 7:19:49 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros backs away, but keeps a hand on the hilt of his blade
[4/3/2013 7:20:45 PM] Khiro: ((28 DD.))
[4/3/2013 7:20:59 PM] Josie: There's an *alarming* click, then a creak. Finally, a much louder click.
[4/3/2013 7:21:07 PM] Khiro: Think I got it.
[4/3/2013 7:21:17 PM] Jamaros: Good, don't open it.
[4/3/2013 7:21:21 PM] Jamaros: Let me test something.
[4/3/2013 7:21:34 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros walks over to the door.
[4/3/2013 7:21:44 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros knocks on it loudly
[4/3/2013 7:21:49 PM] Khiro: Khiro shrugs, and steps away.
[4/3/2013 7:22:03 PM] Amara: Jamaros, are you expecting someone to answer in reply to your knock?
[4/3/2013 7:22:13 PM] Jamaros: They might.
[4/3/2013 7:22:15 PM] Josie: There's no answer.
[4/3/2013 7:22:19 PM] Jamaros: Ok then
[4/3/2013 7:22:22 PM] Josie: The sound echoes a bit.
[4/3/2013 7:22:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor: You never know. Some people are smarter than others.
[4/3/2013 7:22:31 PM] Amara: I would be alarmed if someone did...
[4/3/2013 7:22:50 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros opens the door carefully and peers in
[4/3/2013 7:23:21 PM] Josie: The door swings inward, revealing a largish, empty room.
[4/3/2013 7:23:23 PM] Josie: Spot checks.
[4/3/2013 7:24:44 PM] Josie: It seems like a big empty room, really.
[4/3/2013 7:25:01 PM] Amara: (( Any doors or hallways? ))
[4/3/2013 7:25:09 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros steps through, carefully, keeping a lookout for movement
[4/3/2013 7:25:43 PM] Josie: There's a door sort of kittycorner from you.
[4/3/2013 7:25:54 PM] Josie: No movement!
[4/3/2013 7:25:56 PM] Jamaros: ((Kitty corner?))
[4/3/2013 7:25:58 PM] Josie: Kalanor follows Khiro in.
[4/3/2013 7:25:59 PM] Amara: Amara goes and checks out the door.
[4/3/2013 7:26:01 PM] Josie: Diagonally.
[4/3/2013 7:26:07 PM] Jamaros: ((Ah))
[4/3/2013 7:26:19 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks around, holding up the lantern.
[4/3/2013 7:26:20 PM] Josie: Amara checks the door!
[4/3/2013 7:26:30 PM] Josie: Suddenly the room goes completely dark.
[4/3/2013 7:26:32 PM] Josie: Initiative!
[4/3/2013 7:27:16 PM] Khiro: ((IN spite of the lantern?))
[4/3/2013 7:27:23 PM] Josie: In spite of the lantern!
[4/3/2013 7:27:34 PM] Josie: Round 1: Amara, Khiro, Jamaros!
[4/3/2013 7:27:37 PM] Josie: * Amara *
[4/3/2013 7:27:42 PM] Jamaros: KALANOR!
[4/3/2013 7:27:47 PM] Jamaros: WHERE ARE YOU!
[4/3/2013 7:28:01 PM | Edited 7:28:19 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I'm right behind you, don't scream my bloody eardrums to death, I'm a musician, I *need* them.
[4/3/2013 7:28:22 PM] Jamaros: Sorry
[4/3/2013 7:28:35 PM] Amara: Amara casts Light on her quarterstaff.
[4/3/2013 7:28:49 PM] Josie: ... it doesn't seem to work, oddly...
[4/3/2013 7:29:05 PM] Josie: * Kalanor * can be heard muttering again. It sounds like muffled curses.
[4/3/2013 7:29:09 PM] Josie: * Khiro *
[4/3/2013 7:29:49 PM] Khiro: Khiro listens to hear *something*.
[4/3/2013 7:30:02 PM] Josie: Roll for it!
[4/3/2013 7:30:10 PM] Khiro: ((Feh.))
[4/3/2013 7:30:33 PM] Khiro: Khiro draws his sword.
[4/3/2013 7:31:19 PM] Josie: There's an odd muffled sound in the blackness, like a "whump."
[4/3/2013 7:31:33 PM] Jamaros: That's not a good sound
[4/3/2013 7:32:52 PM] Josie: * Jamaros*
[4/3/2013 7:33:08 PM] Jamaros: I listen
[4/3/2013 7:35:28 PM] Josie: There's some weird sounds coming out of the darkness where Jamaros was.
[4/3/2013 7:35:46 PM] Josie: Sounds a bit like a scuffle, or a wrestling match, or rough snoggery.
[4/3/2013 7:36:06 PM] Khiro: ((Oh my.))
[4/3/2013 7:36:19 PM] Jamaros: Guys, keep low, I think I know what it is!
[4/3/2013 7:36:23 PM] Josie: Well it's not likely to actually *be* that.
[4/3/2013 7:36:34 PM] Jamaros: And I think I stabbed it!
[4/3/2013 7:36:39 PM] Josie: ... well, unless he found the succubus.
[4/3/2013 7:36:41 PM] Josie: Anyway.
[4/3/2013 7:37:16 PM] Josie: The darkness lets up, suddenly, and Amara's staff is glowing, the lantern is still on, and Kalanor still looks annoyed.
[4/3/2013 7:37:47 PM] Josie: Jamaros appears to have conquered a heap of leather coats sitting on top of some octopi, or at least that's what it looks like.
[4/3/2013 7:37:53 PM] Josie: End initiative!
[4/3/2013 7:37:59 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros smiles
[4/3/2013 7:38:06 PM] Amara: What....the hell happened?
[4/3/2013 7:38:17 PM] Josie: ... of course, most leather coats don't have eyes.
[4/3/2013 7:38:23 PM] Josie: And they don't usually breathe.
[4/3/2013 7:38:25 PM] Jamaros: I think I got attacked by that thing
[4/3/2013 7:38:40 PM] Josie: Kalanor wanders up to it and prods it with a toe. "... darkmantle, I think?"
[4/3/2013 7:39:06 PM] Jamaros: Know a lot about the wildfire, elf?
[4/3/2013 7:39:18 PM] Jamaros: *wildlife
[4/3/2013 7:39:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Not a *lot*, no.
[4/3/2013 7:39:39 PM] Amara: Spend a lot of time in caves, then?
[4/3/2013 7:39:58 PM] Jamaros: ...incidently, any of you know how to heal a wound?
[4/3/2013 7:40:09 PM] Khiro: Not I, sorry.
[4/3/2013 7:40:09 PM] Jamaros: I kind of got bit.
[4/3/2013 7:40:26 PM] Josie: Kal shrugs. "Some. Really? Usually they try to hug you to death like a snake."
[4/3/2013 7:40:43 PM] Jamaros: Well, it did something to me.
[4/3/2013 7:41:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor gestures him over. "Come here."
[4/3/2013 7:41:19 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks around the room.
[4/3/2013 7:41:33 PM] Jamaros: ((I thought he was right behind me))
[4/3/2013 7:41:38 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros walks over
[4/3/2013 7:41:52 PM] Josie: He was, til he walked over to the other side of the darkmantle.
[4/3/2013 7:42:01 PM] Jamaros: (y)
[4/3/2013 7:42:17 PM] Khiro: ((pretty sure we're not keeping to a strict formation.))
[4/3/2013 7:42:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor touches you with exactly one finger, mutters something as if he's thinking of something else entirely and then wanders back to the door that you *didn't* come in by. You gain 5 HP back!
[4/3/2013 7:43:05 PM] Jamaros: ...where'd you learn that?  Bardic magic?
[4/3/2013 7:43:06 PM] Khiro: Khiro is inspecting the door.
[4/3/2013 7:43:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor shrugs. "You live long enough and you learn, or you die. It's kind of a binary choice you make and death is overrated. Are there any traps on this one?"
[4/3/2013 7:44:03 PM] Josie: Cira: Mrowwl.
[4/3/2013 7:44:06 PM] Khiro: It's locked, but I don't see any traps.
[4/3/2013 7:44:10 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros wanders over to the darkmantle
[4/3/2013 7:44:18 PM] Jamaros: What else do you know about them?
[4/3/2013 7:44:33 PM] Josie: Kalanor: They don't taste good.
[4/3/2013 7:44:44 PM] Jamaros: Are they poisonous?
[4/3/2013 7:44:54 PM] Josie: Kalanor: To eat? No.
[4/3/2013 7:45:04 PM] Jamaros: I mean a bite or something?
[4/3/2013 7:45:14 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Just rubbery. Oh, you mean do they poison people? no, not that I know of.
[4/3/2013 7:45:14 PM] Jamaros: Maybe their blood?
[4/3/2013 7:45:34 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't have a key at all.
[4/3/2013 7:45:39 PM] Amara: Are you *looking* for poison, Jamaros?
[4/3/2013 7:45:41 PM] Khiro: I can pick it.
[4/3/2013 7:45:57 PM] Jamaros: I am looking for something I might be able to use, yes.
[4/3/2013 7:46:24 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Haven't heard a thing about it either way, but given that everyone who ate it survived I wouldn't think it's poisonous.
[4/3/2013 7:46:33 PM] Jamaros: ...ok.
[4/3/2013 7:46:44 PM] Jamaros: How's your lockpicking, Khiro?
[4/3/2013 7:46:50 PM] Khiro: Pretty good.
[4/3/2013 7:47:53 PM] Khiro: ((25.))
[4/3/2013 7:47:57 PM] Amara: Well, if you ever need poison, I might be able to brew you up something.
[4/3/2013 7:48:11 PM] Jamaros: Thanks, but I can make my own, just fine.
[4/3/2013 7:48:20 PM] Jamaros: Given the right ingredients.
[4/3/2013 7:48:23 PM] Josie: The heavy padlock-style lock comes loose in Khiro's hand.
[4/3/2013 7:48:31 PM] Jamaros: Nice work.
[4/3/2013 7:48:33 PM] Amara: Amara rolls her eyes.  "Fine. No need to ask for help."
[4/3/2013 7:48:38 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I can see I hired the right bunch of sociopaths.
[4/3/2013 7:48:45 PM] Khiro: I'm not a sociopath.
[4/3/2013 7:48:52 PM] Josie: He doesn't sound critical, surprisingly.
[4/3/2013 7:48:58 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Nobody's perfect.
[4/3/2013 7:49:02 PM] Jamaros: I must admit, I never took you for a poisoner.  It's not very...noble, is it?
[4/3/2013 7:49:08 PM] Khiro: Let's scope this room for secret doors or passages or whatnot.
[4/3/2013 7:49:13 PM] Jamaros: Good idea
[4/3/2013 7:49:35 PM] Amara: I do what I need to survive, thanks for asking though. I like Khiro's idea.
[4/3/2013 7:50:13 PM] Khiro: Khiro casts Detect Secret Doors.
[4/3/2013 7:50:42 PM] Josie: Nothing!
[4/3/2013 7:50:56 PM] Jamaros: ...guess it's that way, or no way at all.
[4/3/2013 7:51:14 PM] Khiro: Near as I can tell, it's that and the way we came.
[4/3/2013 7:51:36 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros goes to the door, and opens it slowly and carefully.  Peeking around it.
[4/3/2013 7:52:06 PM] Josie: He sees another door, about ten feet away!
[4/3/2013 7:52:20 PM] Josie: ... kind of silly to have two doors so close to each other, isn't it?
[4/3/2013 7:52:52 PM] Jamaros: ...I see another door.  I'll go in first and check the door.  Khiro, you keep an eye out for any traps in the passageway.
[4/3/2013 7:53:39 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros walks through, very carefully, making sure not to upset anything.
[4/3/2013 7:53:52 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros inspects the other door.
[4/3/2013 7:54:15 PM] Khiro: I don't see anything in the hallway.
[4/3/2013 7:55:43 PM] Jamaros: The door appears to be clean.  And I can't make out any noise from the other side.
[4/3/2013 7:56:17 PM] Khiro: Khiro moves forward to check the door himself.
[4/3/2013 7:56:46 PM] Khiro: ((Wow, my rolls got really bad really quick.))
[4/3/2013 7:56:53 PM] Josie: Yeah, all of a sudden.
[4/3/2013 7:56:58 PM] Khiro: Yeah, looks clear.
[4/3/2013 7:57:02 PM] Jamaros: ((ditto, and I did so well against the monster))
[4/3/2013 7:57:07 PM] Jamaros: ...ok, on three
[4/3/2013 7:57:12 PM] Josie: Yeah, you killed it in one shot!
[4/3/2013 7:57:24 PM] Jamaros: 1
[4/3/2013 7:57:27 PM] Jamaros: 2
[4/3/2013 7:57:31 PM] Jamaros: 3
[4/3/2013 7:57:42 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros creeps the door open
[4/3/2013 7:58:17 PM] Josie: The door opens, but as it does, there's an ominous click from the side of the tunnel, and a dart flies out and hits him on the neck.
[4/3/2013 7:58:35 PM] Jamaros: ((don't we get a reflex save?))
[4/3/2013 7:58:54 PM] Josie: Nope, it's an attack roll, and it did indeed hit.
[4/3/2013 8:00:16 PM] Jamaros: Oh, this isn't good
[4/3/2013 8:00:29 PM] Amara: Jamaros, are you okay?
[4/3/2013 8:00:53 PM] Jamaros: Thank you, Senorita, I'll have the fillet mignon.
[4/3/2013 8:01:04 PM] Khiro: Khiro yanks the dart out!
[4/3/2013 8:01:29 PM] Khiro: Khiro hopes after the fact that it's not barbed.
[4/3/2013 8:02:14 PM] Josie: It wasn't!
[4/3/2013 8:02:22 PM] Jamaros: It's bloodroot poison
[4/3/2013 8:02:35 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... darts. Wonderful. Someone came through and reset all the traps after I came through. Extra special.
[4/3/2013 8:02:46 PM] Josie: Cat: Mrowl.
[4/3/2013 8:02:54 PM] Josie: The tabby sounds concerned.
[4/3/2013 8:03:04 PM] Jamaros: Yes, Cira, the matinee will be fine.
[4/3/2013 8:03:13 PM] Josie: Tabby, now clearly alarmed: Mrowl!
[4/3/2013 8:03:20 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks around!
[4/3/2013 8:03:38 PM] Josie: You're still in front of the door.
[4/3/2013 8:03:56 PM] Josie: Cira sniffs at Jamaros curiously.
[4/3/2013 8:04:06 PM] Amara: Jamaros?
[4/3/2013 8:04:28 PM] Jamaros: ...hello.
[4/3/2013 8:04:33 PM] Amara: Amara looks at Khiro. "What the hell is wrong with him?"
[4/3/2013 8:04:36 PM] Khiro: You have an antidote or anything on you, Jamaros?
[4/3/2013 8:04:42 PM] Khiro: He's been poisoned.
[4/3/2013 8:04:58 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... there's not a lot I can do about that, I'm not a priestess.
[4/3/2013 8:04:59 PM] Jamaros: No, but my people built up a wee bit of an immunity to it.
[4/3/2013 8:05:01 PM] Amara: ...I have a vial of antitoxin...
[4/3/2013 8:05:08 PM] Jamaros: I should be fine...eventually.
[4/3/2013 8:05:14 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... save it, there's going to be worse, I think.
[4/3/2013 8:05:15 PM] Jamaros: ...I think
[4/3/2013 8:05:41 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Well, you haven't turned green or spat out your intestines yet, so you're probably right. Let's keep going.
[4/3/2013 8:05:51 PM] Amara: Are there anymore traps?
[4/3/2013 8:06:04 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Gods yes.
[4/3/2013 8:06:10 PM] Jamaros: Does anyone else taste purple?
[4/3/2013 8:06:21 PM] Khiro: Constantly.
[4/3/2013 8:06:21 PM] Amara: I meant in this area...
[4/3/2013 8:06:39 PM] Josie: Cira mews, and flutters over to Jamaros to lick his face.
[4/3/2013 8:06:55 PM] Khiro: Most likely.
[4/3/2013 8:07:15 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Here? I don't know.
[4/3/2013 8:07:19 PM] Khiro: I doubt someone would just reset the one.
[4/3/2013 8:07:19 PM] Jamaros: ...Nitharit.  Why didn't I pack nitharit?
[4/3/2013 8:07:54 PM] Josie: Kalanor: No idea. I often do.
[4/3/2013 8:08:02 PM] Josie: Kalanor cautiously pushes the door open and peers through it.
[4/3/2013 8:08:23 PM] Jamaros: WAIT!  ...you have nitharit?
[4/3/2013 8:08:50 PM] Josie: Kalanor: What difference would it make if I did?
[4/3/2013 8:09:06 PM] Jamaros: I think I can work up an antidote from it.
[4/3/2013 8:09:36 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Not worth it. Come on.
[4/3/2013 8:09:40 PM] Josie: He steps into the next room!
[4/3/2013 8:09:47 PM] Jamaros: ...you're no fun.
[4/3/2013 8:09:56 PM] Khiro: Khiro follows Kalanor.
[4/3/2013 8:10:02 PM] Amara: Amara follows
[4/3/2013 8:10:08 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros stumbles to his feet and follows
[4/3/2013 8:10:19 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I will add your complaint to the long, long, *very* long list of people who have said almost exactly the same thing.
[4/3/2013 8:10:55 PM] Jamaros: You don't like people much.  I thought bards were s'pose to be friendly.
[4/3/2013 8:10:56 PM] Josie: Roll Notice!
[4/3/2013 8:11:28 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Should I be flirting with you? Batting my eyelashes?
[4/3/2013 8:11:48 PM] Amara: Amara giggles a bit at Kalanor's remark.
[4/3/2013 8:12:06 PM] Josie: There's an odd musty smell in the air--something's probably moldy in here, but since you're in a cave that shouldn't come as a big huge surprise.
[4/3/2013 8:12:13 PM] Josie: All three of you hear something over your head!
[4/3/2013 8:12:23 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks up.
[4/3/2013 8:12:26 PM] Amara: Amara looks up
[4/3/2013 8:12:42 PM] Jamaros: I am definitely not looking up.
[4/3/2013 8:12:49 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros looks up
[4/3/2013 8:12:52 PM] Josie: The ceiling is moving.
[4/3/2013 8:12:58 PM] Josie: ... crawling.
[4/3/2013 8:13:07 PM] Josie: Spiders. Hundreds and hundreds of them.
[4/3/2013 8:13:11 PM] Khiro: ...hold on a sec.
[4/3/2013 8:13:21 PM] Amara: Oh god...anything but spiders....please...no spiders...
[4/3/2013 8:13:39 PM] Jamaros: ...I'm not the only one who sees that, right?
[4/3/2013 8:13:43 PM] Josie: Some teeny-tiny and a few larger ones, up to the size of a big man's fist, on a webbing in the middle of the room and extending forward into the darkness.
[4/3/2013 8:13:44 PM] Khiro: ... you really came to the wrong Underdark, Amara.
[4/3/2013 8:13:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Sees what?
[4/3/2013 8:14:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor finally looks up. "... oh. Yeah, no, those are really there."
[4/3/2013 8:14:04 PM] Amara: I just *really* hate spiders, okay?
[4/3/2013 8:14:11 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... why?
[4/3/2013 8:14:18 PM] Jamaros: Can't say I'm too fond of them myself.
[4/3/2013 8:14:25 PM] Khiro: Khiro moves off toward a wall.
[4/3/2013 8:14:33 PM] Josie: Kalanor: They'll leave you alone if you leave them alone.
[4/3/2013 8:14:50 PM] Amara: That's what they all say...until it bites you...ick...
[4/3/2013 8:15:11 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Well, they're not biting you now. Of course, if you'd *like* to be bitten...
[4/3/2013 8:15:24 PM] Amara: NO
[4/3/2013 8:15:38 PM] Josie: Kalanor: You sure? I could fetch some down for you.
[4/3/2013 8:16:21 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Look, that one's almost transparent. I bet if it stood still you wouldn't even be able to tell it's there.
[4/3/2013 8:16:37 PM] Jamaros: Not comforting
[4/3/2013 8:16:38 PM | Edited 8:16:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... maybe there are some on the ground, too. Holding still. Very, very still.
[4/3/2013 8:17:01 PM] Jamaros: Why did we bring you along again?
[4/3/2013 8:17:11 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She's my sister.
[4/3/2013 8:17:39 PM] Josie: Khiro touches the wall to your right, and part of the wall slides up into a hidden recess in the ceiling!
[4/3/2013 8:17:46 PM] Amara: Amara looks back down. "Can we just keep moving and not staring at the stupid spiders?"
[4/3/2013 8:18:02 PM] Jamaros: ...hello, what have we here?
[4/3/2013 8:18:13 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I have no idea. Be careful.
[4/3/2013 8:18:18 PM] Khiro: Clearly.
[4/3/2013 8:18:26 PM] Josie: The mold smell gets *much* stronger, and there's a sound from behind the open door.
[4/3/2013 8:18:44 PM] Amara: Amara moves towards the door.
[4/3/2013 8:18:50 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros creeps closer to the door to hear
[4/3/2013 8:18:56 PM] Josie: A man stumbles out from the door!
[4/3/2013 8:19:18 PM] Amara: Amara sighs. "Thank gods it isn't a giant spider."
[4/3/2013 8:19:26 PM] Khiro: Could be a were-spider.
[4/3/2013 8:19:28 PM] Josie: He looks up, and it's fairly clear that he's very dead, given that his jaw has fallen off and his rags are so decrepit they're falling off. He sways a bit.
[4/3/2013 8:19:45 PM] Amara: ...Maybe I'd prefer a giant spider...
[4/3/2013 8:19:53 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Rrrarrrrr!
[4/3/2013 8:19:55 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros searches the dead guy
[4/3/2013 8:19:59 PM] Jamaros: Gah!
[4/3/2013 8:20:22 PM] Josie: He goes Rarrrrrr at Jamaros!
[4/3/2013 8:20:47 PM] Jamaros: ...so, is it attacking us?
[4/3/2013 8:20:54 PM] Josie: Not at the moment, no.
[4/3/2013 8:21:00 PM] Jamaros: ...huh?
[4/3/2013 8:21:05 PM] Josie: Just staring with rotting, glassy eyes.
[4/3/2013 8:21:29 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... that... is *disgusting.*
[4/3/2013 8:21:37 PM] Khiro: Very.  Let's kill it.
[4/3/2013 8:21:37 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Is that its intestines?
[4/3/2013 8:21:43 PM] Jamaros: Wait!
[4/3/2013 8:21:45 PM] Josie: Kalanor looks a bit greenish in the face.
[4/3/2013 8:21:57 PM] Josie: The ghoul backs up. "Rarrrhrrgh!"
[4/3/2013 8:22:11 PM] Josie: (Of course, so does the ghoul.)
[4/3/2013 8:22:18 PM] Jamaros: Oh, now look what you did.  You scared it!
[4/3/2013 8:22:44 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Aaaaarrrrrrr!
[4/3/2013 8:22:53 PM] Jamaros: Or, maybe not.
[4/3/2013 8:22:58 PM] Josie: It waves its bony arm, and a bit of flesh drops off one of them.
[4/3/2013 8:23:20 PM] Khiro: Put the damn thing out of its misery.
[4/3/2013 8:23:29 PM] Jamaros: It might prove useful.
[4/3/2013 8:23:49 PM] Khiro: How in the nine hells do you figure that?
[4/3/2013 8:23:58 PM] Jamaros: It can open doors.
[4/3/2013 8:24:09 PM] Amara: ...it can open doors. that's your reasoning?
[4/3/2013 8:24:12 PM] Josie: The ghoul turns around and runs into a wall.
[4/3/2013 8:24:19 PM] Khiro: And enemies will smell us coming a *mile* away.
[4/3/2013 8:24:26 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Gods. That *smell.*
[4/3/2013 8:24:56 PM] Jamaros: It's not like we've been getting the jump on enemies until now.
[4/3/2013 8:25:16 PM] Khiro: I'm not traveling with that thing.
[4/3/2013 8:25:25 PM] Jamaros: We let you keep the cat.
[4/3/2013 8:25:34 PM] Amara: Maybe he's lonely? Maybe he's looking for his....
[4/3/2013 8:25:37 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Rarrrr!!!
[4/3/2013 8:25:38 PM] Amara: ....GHOULfriend
[4/3/2013 8:25:43 PM] Josie: The ghoul runs into the wall again.
[4/3/2013 8:25:55 PM] Josie: Kalanor *stares* at Amara, and shakes his head.
[4/3/2013 8:25:58 PM] Khiro: Khiro glowers at Amara.
[4/3/2013 8:25:58 PM] Jamaros: It seems to really hate that wall
[4/3/2013 8:26:07 PM] Amara: Guys...a little humor? Maybe?
[4/3/2013 8:26:11 PM] Josie: (You can use Sense Motive any time you want, as you may recall.)
[4/3/2013 8:26:15 PM] Amara: Or not. That's cool.
[4/3/2013 8:26:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor, impatiently: Well, what are we going to do?
[4/3/2013 8:26:59 PM] Amara: Amara checks out the wall he keeps running into
[4/3/2013 8:27:20 PM] Jamaros: Oh shut up.  You thought the pun was funny.
[4/3/2013 8:27:36 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh, *hilarious*.
[4/3/2013 8:27:38 PM] Josie: He rolls his eyes.
[4/3/2013 8:27:57 PM] Josie: Cira meows plaintively.
[4/3/2013 8:27:58 PM] Jamaros: Amara, you find something on the wall?
[4/3/2013 8:28:08 PM] Josie: Nope! Nothing's on the wall.
[4/3/2013 8:28:18 PM] Khiro: Khiro draws his sword.
[4/3/2013 8:28:27 PM] Amara: Sadly, no.  Maybe he's just dying to get somewhere else...
[4/3/2013 8:28:32 PM] Amara: ...anybody? anybody?
[4/3/2013 8:28:34 PM] Jamaros: Hold on, if it's not attacking us, maybe we can just leave it here.
[4/3/2013 8:28:49 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Rarrrr.
[4/3/2013 8:29:02 PM] Josie: Kalanor winces. "Ghastly."
[4/3/2013 8:29:03 PM] Jamaros: You know, you're not helping me defend you.
[4/3/2013 8:29:11 PM] Jamaros: ((To Ghoul))
[4/3/2013 8:29:12 PM] Amara: ...Ghastly. Or GHOSTLY
[4/3/2013 8:29:23 PM] Jamaros: ...it's not a spirit.
[4/3/2013 8:29:25 PM] Josie: The ghoul turns around and shambles over to the other part of the room, running into *that* wall.
[4/3/2013 8:29:35 PM] Khiro: I'm not leaving it *behind* us.
[4/3/2013 8:29:35 PM] Amara: Okay okay take the fun out of my puns, why don't you.
[4/3/2013 8:29:44 PM] Josie: Kalanor: A ghast is... nevermind.
[4/3/2013 8:29:58 PM] Jamaros: Don't you even want to know why it's here?
[4/3/2013 8:29:58 PM] Amara: (( does he keep running into the same wall? ))
[4/3/2013 8:30:11 PM] Jamaros: In a secret passage.
[4/3/2013 8:30:18 PM | Edited 8:30:29 PM] Khiro: Well, his jaw's on the floor, he's not likely to tell us!
[4/3/2013 8:30:47 PM] Jamaros: I still say we can use him to open doors, maybe not end up with anymore poison darts in our necks.
[4/3/2013 8:30:48 PM] Josie: Different ones!
[4/3/2013 8:30:56 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Rarrrrrrgrrghghg.
[4/3/2013 8:31:16 PM] Jamaros: How's it screaming without a bottom jaw, that is fascinating.
[4/3/2013 8:31:29 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I'd say it was more of a gurgle.
[4/3/2013 8:31:30 PM] Khiro: It still has vocal chords.
[4/3/2013 8:31:49 PM] Josie: Kalanor peers into the secret passage the ghoul came out of. "... hmm. Looks like a storeroom."
[4/3/2013 8:32:33 PM] Jamaros: Why keep a ghoul in a storeroom?
[4/3/2013 8:32:41 PM] Amara: Anything good in the storeroom?
[4/3/2013 8:33:13 PM] Khiro: Let's check it out.  Maybe it was set here to guard it.
[4/3/2013 8:33:21 PM] Jamaros: These boxes look like they might have something good in them.
[4/3/2013 8:33:30 PM] Josie: Ghoul: Rarrrrraaaaaarararrrrrr.
[4/3/2013 8:33:46 PM] Amara: Amara looks in the storeroom.
[4/3/2013 8:34:11 PM] Josie: Jamaros is standing over two suitcase-sized boxes; there are a few other boxes of similar sizes whose contents are obviously destroyed.
[4/3/2013 8:36:44 PM] Jamaros: Hey guys, check this out.
[4/3/2013 8:37:06 PM] Amara: What did you find?
[4/3/2013 8:37:58 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros turns over a crate full of potions
[4/3/2013 8:38:29 PM] Amara: Do you know what type of potions those are?
[4/3/2013 8:38:41 PM] Josie: Each vial is labelled in elven.
[4/3/2013 8:38:58 PM] Josie: There are six potions labelled Cure Light Wounds.
[4/3/2013 8:39:13 PM] Josie: Three potions are labelled Cure Moderate Wounds.
[4/3/2013 8:39:27 PM] Josie: Three vials are labelled Alchemists' Fire.
[4/3/2013 8:39:37 PM] Josie: Six vials are labelled Antitoxin.
[4/3/2013 8:39:47 PM] Josie: Three are labelled Acid.
[4/3/2013 8:39:54 PM] Josie: Three are labelled Holy water.
[4/3/2013 8:40:38 PM] Josie: There are also six Sunrods, each labelled, and three 3-packs of Tindertwigs.
[4/3/2013 8:40:53 PM] Khiro: ((Sorry sorry, my cat was feeling neglected so she spilled my water over my laptop keyboard.))
[4/3/2013 8:41:06 PM] Jamaros: ((Ouch, sorry to hear that))
[4/3/2013 8:41:10 PM] Josie: ((Bad Wennie! Bad! WATER != PIE.))
[4/3/2013 8:41:24 PM] Khiro: ((Think I got it, though.))
[4/3/2013 8:41:41 PM] Khiro: Huh.
[4/3/2013 8:42:17 PM] Josie: Roll Notice, everyone!
[4/3/2013 8:43:21 PM] Khiro: So, what was that you just pocketed, Jamaros?
[4/3/2013 8:43:53 PM] Jamaros: ...heh, caught me Khiro.
[4/3/2013 8:44:05 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros pulls out two necklaces from the other crate
[4/3/2013 8:44:11 PM] Jamaros: You're too crafty for me.
[4/3/2013 8:44:33 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... we should split this up between the three of you, I can't carry much more.
[4/3/2013 8:45:19 PM] Jamaros: Ok, well, there's also a jewelry box and some pearls in there.
[4/3/2013 8:45:24 PM] Khiro: What else was there?
[4/3/2013 8:45:56 PM] Jamaros: ((I also assume I can't use the antitoxin against my poison, or any of the other potions?))
[4/3/2013 8:46:23 PM] Josie: Alas, no.
[4/3/2013 8:46:30 PM] Jamaros: :(
[4/3/2013 8:46:50 PM] Amara: So, an even split of the potions, and what about the jewelry? I really have no taste in jewelry myself.
[4/3/2013 8:47:01 PM] Jamaros: ...I'll keep it.
[4/3/2013 8:47:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Maybe some of it's magic.
[4/3/2013 8:47:15 PM] Khiro: Khiro casts detect magic.
[4/3/2013 8:47:57 PM] Khiro: The pearls are magic.
[4/3/2013 8:48:16 PM] Khiro: Whatever you're holding onto is magic, as are the potions, of course.
[4/3/2013 8:48:36 PM] Jamaros: ...do you know what they might do?
[4/3/2013 8:48:47 PM] Khiro: No.  Not without studying them.
[4/3/2013 8:49:02 PM] Jamaros: ...
[4/3/2013 8:49:12 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros hands one of the necklaces over to Khiro
[4/3/2013 8:49:18 PM] Jamaros: Would this help?
[4/3/2013 8:49:47 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks at it.
[4/3/2013 8:50:39 PM] Khiro: Amara?  What do you think?
[4/3/2013 8:51:14 PM] Josie: Kalanor peers over Khiro's shoulder too, as does Cira. Well, Cira peers *on top* of Khiro's shoulder, but.
[4/3/2013 8:51:31 PM] Khiro: Neckace is magical, definitely.
[4/3/2013 8:51:44 PM] Amara: (( would Detect Magic a second time provide any more information? ))
[4/3/2013 8:51:50 PM] Josie: Nope!
[4/3/2013 8:51:59 PM] Khiro: ((No, you'd need Identify.))
[4/3/2013 8:52:09 PM] Jamaros: ((Do either of you have knowledge arcana or something?))
[4/3/2013 8:52:18 PM] Amara: (( oh hey! I have that! ))
[4/3/2013 8:52:41 PM] Khiro: ((And it costs 100gp pearls a pop.))
[4/3/2013 8:52:59 PM] Jamaros: ((*whistles*))
[4/3/2013 8:53:27 PM | Edited 8:53:50 PM] Khiro: (( http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/identify.htm ))
[4/3/2013 8:53:34 PM] Khiro: ((If only we had pearls!))
[4/3/2013 8:53:49 PM] Josie: *cough* Certainly conven... er... helpful.
[4/3/2013 8:54:16 PM] Jamaros: ((...we do have pearls))
[4/3/2013 8:54:32 PM] Amara: (( obviously someone should put the pearls on ))
[4/3/2013 8:54:45 PM] Josie: There's a box of loose pearls! Two are magic, five aren't.
[4/3/2013 8:54:48 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros reaches in and grabs a pearl
[4/3/2013 8:54:58 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros grabs all the pearls
[4/3/2013 8:55:07 PM] Khiro: Khiro points out the two that are magical.
[4/3/2013 8:55:25 PM] Jamaros: What about the box?
[4/3/2013 8:56:00 PM | Edited 8:56:07 PM] Khiro: We should take this stuff and move onto this Succubus lair, though.  Identify takes awhile to cast.
[4/3/2013 8:56:23 PM] Jamaros: ...Ok, I can hold onto the necklaces and pearls until then.
[4/3/2013 8:56:36 PM] Khiro: Khiro sticks the necklace in his pocket.
[4/3/2013 8:56:52 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros sticks the other necklace in his pocket
[4/3/2013 8:57:02 PM] Jamaros: Now we can split the pearls.  Feel better?
[4/3/2013 8:57:25 PM] Khiro: Well, I know not to trust you now, so there's that.
[4/3/2013 8:57:34 PM] Josie: Kalanor: We knew that before.
[4/3/2013 8:57:40 PM | Edited 8:57:50 PM] Amara: Amara nods in agreement with Khiro
[4/3/2013 8:57:44 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Split the rest of this stuff up evenly and let's go.
[4/3/2013 8:57:48 PM] Khiro: Now we have empircal proof.
[4/3/2013 8:57:53 PM] Jamaros: I don't recall ever saying you should trust me.
[4/3/2013 8:58:06 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros hands over the pearls.
[4/3/2013 8:58:24 PM] Jamaros: Take them, divide them how you like.  I'm keeping this necklace.
[4/3/2013 8:58:41 PM] Josie: Add to your inventory:
2 CLW potions
1 CMW potion
1 Alchemists' fire
2 Antitoxin
1 Acid
1 Holy Water
2 Sunrods
3 tindertwigs.
[4/3/2013 8:58:57 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Just do it evenly, you never know who might need what.
[4/3/2013 8:59:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor: The necklace is probably cursed, let's get going already.
[4/3/2013 8:59:24 PM] Josie: He heads out of the room and into the darkness ahead!
[4/3/2013 8:59:31 PM] Amara: Amara follows
[4/3/2013 8:59:57 PM] Jamaros: ((Uh...just like to point out, we never dealt with the ghoul))
[4/3/2013 9:00:07 PM] Josie: The ghoul is no longer present!
[4/3/2013 9:00:24 PM] Josie: At some point while you were wrangling about treasure, it wandered off... somewhere.
[4/3/2013 9:00:34 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros follows
[4/3/2013 9:00:49 PM] Jamaros: ((btw how long until the poison wears off?))
[4/3/2013 9:01:07 PM] Josie: You get 1 point of each thing back per evening's rest.
[4/3/2013 9:01:44 PM] Khiro: Khiro follows along.
[4/3/2013 9:01:44 PM] Josie: Do make sure your charsheets include the inventory you've gotten, folks.
[4/3/2013 9:02:03 PM] Josie: If they don't I will be enforcing that what you have on there is all you have, for this part of the trip, soooo.
[4/3/2013 9:02:19 PM] Jamaros: ((I got mine marked
[4/3/2013 9:02:19 PM] Josie: All right, we need a bio break. Take 5 minutes!
[4/3/2013 9:02:21 PM] Jamaros: ))
[4/3/2013 9:02:33 PM] Josie: Okay. Assume you divided the alchemy stuff evenly, because Kal would have *made* you.
[4/3/2013 9:03:10 PM] Jamaros: ((I assume I took one pearl, the smallest share, given no one trusts me))
[4/3/2013 9:03:50 PM] Josie: Nope, evenly.
[4/3/2013 9:04:27 PM] Jamaros: You can't divide 5 pearls evenly amongst three people.
[4/3/2013 9:05:01 PM] Khiro: ((We'll cut one in half! ))
[4/3/2013 9:05:06 PM] Josie: The alchemy stuff evenly, I said.
[4/3/2013 9:05:16 PM] Khiro: ((We still have to sort out the magic itmes.))
[4/3/2013 9:05:22 PM] Khiro: ((Once we know what they are.))
[4/3/2013 9:05:22 PM] Josie: I'm still not sure myself who got the 2 magic pearls and the 5 mundane pearls.
[4/3/2013 9:05:35 PM] Josie: And the 2 magical necklaces.
[4/3/2013 9:05:46 PM] Khiro: ((I thought Jamaros grabbed the jewelry back up.  Khiro kept one necklace, Jam kept the other.))
[4/3/2013 9:05:49 PM] Jamaros: I got a necklace and Khiro got a necklace, that was decided
[4/3/2013 9:06:08 PM] Josie: *nod* Leaving seven pearls on the table, so to speak.
[4/3/2013 9:06:17 PM] Khiro: ((I assumed Jamaros held onto those.))
[4/3/2013 9:06:37 PM] Jamaros: ((No, but I can if you want me to :) ))
[4/3/2013 9:07:06 PM] Khiro: ((Sure, Khiro wouldn't care now that he *knows* about them.))
[4/3/2013 9:07:22 PM] Jamaros: Ok then, 7 pearls and one necklace for me :)
[4/3/2013 9:08:01 PM] Jamaros: Who gets the jewelry box?
[4/3/2013 9:09:05 PM] Khiro: ((Are you taling IC or OOC?))
[4/3/2013 9:09:12 PM] Jamaros: ((OOC))
[4/3/2013 9:09:16 PM] Josie: Let's just wait.
[4/3/2013 9:09:24 PM] Josie: One more minute, then we'll start again. I said five minutes, so.
[4/3/2013 9:09:33 PM] Amara: ((back))
[4/3/2013 9:09:37 PM] Khiro: ((Yeah, we're not divying up treasure, just who's carrying it.))
[4/3/2013 9:09:53 PM] Josie: Yep.
[4/3/2013 9:09:53 PM] Jamaros: (y)
[4/3/2013 9:09:59 PM] Josie: Okay!
[4/3/2013 9:10:02 PM] Josie: Back IC now!
[4/3/2013 9:10:23 PM] Josie: I'm going to assume Kal picked up the jewelry box and all the pearls, actually.
[4/3/2013 9:10:32 PM] Jamaros: ((Fine))
[4/3/2013 9:10:33 PM] Josie: ... because he wanted you to follow him into the black.
[4/3/2013 9:10:48 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros follows
[4/3/2013 9:10:53 PM] Amara: Amara is still following
[4/3/2013 9:10:58 PM] Josie: Up ahead the path curves around to the right.
[4/3/2013 9:10:58 PM] Khiro: Khiro follows!
[4/3/2013 9:11:33 PM] Josie: ((Hope this map thing is working.))
[4/3/2013 9:11:40 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros goes onward
[4/3/2013 9:11:41 PM] Khiro: Khiro watches floor for traps and the like.
[4/3/2013 9:11:53 PM] Jamaros: ((Yeah, I see stuff))
[4/3/2013 9:11:58 PM] Josie: Roll notice!
[4/3/2013 9:13:20 PM] Josie: ... not seeing any rolls. Is Roll20 on?
[4/3/2013 9:13:28 PM] Jamaros: Yeah
[4/3/2013 9:13:36 PM] Khiro: ((I see our rolls.))
[4/3/2013 9:13:40 PM] Amara: (( I rolled an 8 ))
[4/3/2013 9:13:41 PM] Jamaros: ((Me Too))
[4/3/2013 9:13:46 PM] Josie: ((Oh, right, right.))
[4/3/2013 9:14:42 PM] Josie: As you turn the corner you come out of the tunnel, and into a large, open cave; you can see a waterfall ahead of you that goes right over the path.
[4/3/2013 9:15:16 PM] Jamaros: ((Do you mean it crosses the path, or does it end in a waterfall?))
[4/3/2013 9:15:33 PM] Josie: It crosses the path, falling from above you somewhere to below you somewhere.
[4/3/2013 9:15:42 PM] Khiro: Hmm.  That's almost pretty.
[4/3/2013 9:15:50 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I think there's traps between here and the waterfall. Be careful.
[4/3/2013 9:16:06 PM | Edited 9:16:14 PM] Jamaros: ...Khiro, why don't you handle it this time?
[4/3/2013 9:16:16 PM] Khiro: Khiro nods.  "All right."
[4/3/2013 9:16:37 PM] Khiro: Khiro creeps forward, eye out for traps!
[4/3/2013 9:17:30 PM] Khiro: Khiro points out a couple of trap triggers on the path.
[4/3/2013 9:17:42 PM] Khiro: "Here and here..."
[4/3/2013 9:17:49 PM] Khiro: Though this one has already been triggered.
[4/3/2013 9:18:05 PM] Jamaros: ...what do you mean, already been triggered?
[4/3/2013 9:18:17 PM] Khiro: Someone set it off and it hasn't been reset.
[4/3/2013 9:18:46 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros turns to Kalanor.  "Was that you, or should we be worried?"
[4/3/2013 9:19:02 PM] Josie: Kalanor: It wasn't me. I don't think. ... I'd remember getting shot, probably. Maybe. ... I don't know.
[4/3/2013 9:19:33 PM] Jamaros: You just fill me with confidence.
[4/3/2013 9:19:36 PM] Khiro: Khiro goes and disarms the other trap.
[4/3/2013 9:19:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Beats being filled with arrows, doesn't it?
[4/3/2013 9:20:14 PM] Josie: There's a click, and Khiro picks the arrow out of the launching mechanism.
[4/3/2013 9:20:35 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros proceeds through, cautiously.
[4/3/2013 9:20:38 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... impressive.
[4/3/2013 9:20:52 PM] Josie: Now you're standing in front of the waterfall.
[4/3/2013 9:20:56 PM] Khiro: I've been shot by enough arrows and poison darts in my time.
[4/3/2013 9:21:10 PM] Josie: Though the water isn't very deep, its current is quite fast, and the stone underneath it looks murderously slippery.
[4/3/2013 9:21:21 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Really? You must be very good at dodging.
[4/3/2013 9:21:24 PM] Josie: Cira: Mrrowl.
[4/3/2013 9:21:28 PM] Khiro: Just lucky.
[4/3/2013 9:21:44 PM] Jamaros: Well, that solves one problem.
[4/3/2013 9:22:19 PM] Josie: Cira lifts into the air, flies over the waterflow and alights on the other side, looking quite smug as she licks her paws complacently.
[4/3/2013 9:22:27 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... damned cat.
[4/3/2013 9:22:42 PM] Khiro: Khiro casts Dancing Lights.
[4/3/2013 9:22:42 PM] Jamaros: I am really starting to hate that cat.
[4/3/2013 9:22:49 PM] Khiro: You're just jealous you can't fly.
[4/3/2013 9:22:53 PM] Khiro: I know I am.
[4/3/2013 9:22:55 PM] Jamaros: ...yes
[4/3/2013 9:22:57 PM] Josie: Cat, with great smugness: Mew.
[4/3/2013 9:23:16 PM] Amara: Isis flies off Amara's shoulder, where she's been perched, to join Cira on the other side.
[4/3/2013 9:23:44 PM] Khiro: Khiro stows the lantern for now, so his hands are free.
[4/3/2013 9:24:07 PM] Khiro: Okay. I'm going to check for traps.  Cause that would be the place to put them.
[4/3/2013 9:24:15 PM] Khiro: Stay back.
[4/3/2013 9:24:36 PM] Josie: It's fairly dark, but Amara's staff is still glowy.
[4/3/2013 9:24:43 PM] Khiro: ((That's why I cast Dancing Lights.))
[4/3/2013 9:24:54 PM] Josie: Oh! Right, I forgot about that.
[4/3/2013 9:25:57 PM] Khiro: Khiro moves over the slippery stones underneath the waterfall.
[4/3/2013 9:26:11 PM] Josie: Roll Acrobatics/balance!
[4/3/2013 9:26:49 PM] Khiro: ((18!))
[4/3/2013 9:27:37 PM] Josie: Khiro manages to keep his feet, passing the waterfall without any serious trouble, though there are a couple of points where he has to hold still for a moment to keep his footing.
[4/3/2013 9:27:59 PM] Khiro: Go slow, it's very slippery.
[4/3/2013 9:28:14 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros gets on all fours and crawls across
[4/3/2013 9:28:25 PM] Josie: Roll for it!
[4/3/2013 9:28:37 PM] Jamaros: ((9))
[4/3/2013 9:28:50 PM] Josie: Jamaros slips and falls!
[4/3/2013 9:29:05 PM] Josie: Roll again to regain your fo... kneeing?
[4/3/2013 9:29:10 PM] Josie: It's not really footing, but.
[4/3/2013 9:29:18 PM | Edited 9:29:26 PM] Jamaros: ((same roll?))
[4/3/2013 9:29:23 PM] Khiro: Khiro goes to grab him if he can!
[4/3/2013 9:29:40 PM] Josie: Yep!
[4/3/2013 9:29:49 PM] Jamaros: ((Oh no, I crit failed)
[4/3/2013 9:29:55 PM] Josie: You slipped, failed to regain your footing!
[4/3/2013 9:30:07 PM] Josie: Khiro is on the other side, but could try tossing him a rope!
[4/3/2013 9:30:12 PM] Khiro: Khiro will do that!
[4/3/2013 9:30:23 PM] Jamaros: ((What do I roll to catch?))
[4/3/2013 9:30:37 PM] Josie: ... good question. Roll your attack roll, I guess.
[4/3/2013 9:30:55 PM] Jamaros: (music)
[4/3/2013 9:30:58 PM] Khiro: ((Or a dex or str check?))
[4/3/2013 9:31:02 PM] Jamaros: (( 8 ))
[4/3/2013 9:31:11 PM] Josie: Now roll your balance/acrobatics one more time!
[4/3/2013 9:31:24 PM] Jamaros: ((My attack was better than my dex or strength))
[4/3/2013 9:31:45 PM] Jamaros: ((Crit failed again))
[4/3/2013 9:31:46 PM] Josie: ... your luck is really bad.
[4/3/2013 9:31:53 PM] Jamaros: ((Tell me about it))
[4/3/2013 9:32:07 PM] Jamaros: ((I'm dead))
[4/3/2013 9:32:19 PM] Josie: Kalanor leaps into the water after Jamaros, who catches the rope but still slips off the edge.
[4/3/2013 9:32:50 PM] Josie: This leaves Kalanor holding onto Jamaros's feet while Jamaros dangles off the edge of the precipice.
[4/3/2013 9:33:02 PM] Khiro: Khiro can try to pull them up?
[4/3/2013 9:33:10 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh, <word that sounds a lot like an expletive>.
[4/3/2013 9:33:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Jamaros! Do you have the rope!
[4/3/2013 9:33:45 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros grabs the rope
[4/3/2013 9:34:15 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Because you need to *fucking lay off the doughnuts*.
[4/3/2013 9:34:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Do you have it? I can't ... hold... on...
[4/3/2013 9:34:48 PM] Jamaros: I HAVE IT!
[4/3/2013 9:34:55 PM] Khiro: Khiro tries to pull them up!
[4/3/2013 9:34:58 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh thank the gods.
[4/3/2013 9:35:06 PM] Josie: Kalanor lets go of Jamaros.
[4/3/2013 9:35:34 PM] Josie: This results in Khiro suddenly being yanked toward the edge as the rope takes the full weight of Jamaros and he swings Tarzan-style through the waterfall.
[4/3/2013 9:35:58 PM] Josie: He manages to hold on, though!
[4/3/2013 9:36:04 PM] Josie: Khiro, what's your Strength again?
[4/3/2013 9:36:10 PM] Khiro: ((8!))
[4/3/2013 9:36:14 PM] Khiro: ((Dump stat!))
[4/3/2013 9:36:15 PM] Josie: Interesting!
[4/3/2013 9:36:20 PM] Jamaros: ((Well fuck, we're dead))
[4/3/2013 9:36:25 PM] Josie: How much does Jamaros weigh with all his stuff?
[4/3/2013 9:36:43 PM] Khiro: Amara!  You have anything that will help?
[4/3/2013 9:36:53 PM] Jamaros: ((Roughly 275 pounds.))
[4/3/2013 9:37:02 PM] Amara: ....more rope?
[4/3/2013 9:37:04 PM] Jamaros: ((I think))
[4/3/2013 9:37:40 PM] Josie: ... in one of the shockingest, most improbable rolls I have *ever seen*, Jamaros swings up neatly, landing on both his feet between Khiro (who, mind you, feels like his arms have been torn out of their sockets and will be very sore for a day or two) and the cat and owl.
[4/3/2013 9:37:48 PM] Josie: It looks like he did it on purpose.
[4/3/2013 9:37:51 PM] Khiro: I mean spells or *grunt* something?
[4/3/2013 9:38:18 PM] Jamaros: Thank you thank you thank you
[4/3/2013 9:38:26 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... if you could do that you might have told me *before* I nearly fell off the damn cliff grabbing you.
[4/3/2013 9:38:40 PM] Amara: (( I'm still on the other side/ the wrong side, correct?))
[4/3/2013 9:38:43 PM] Jamaros: I had no idea I could do that
[4/3/2013 9:38:51 PM] Josie: Amara and Kal are still on the other side of the waterfall, yep.
[4/3/2013 9:39:02 PM] Jamaros: It's incredible what the body will do when in mortal danger
[4/3/2013 9:39:08 PM] Khiro: Khiro tosses the next person the rope.
[4/3/2013 9:39:08 PM] Josie: I rolled a 99/100, or you *might* not have. >.>
[4/3/2013 9:39:20 PM] Khiro: Jamaros, help me hold onto this end of the ropel.
[4/3/2013 9:39:24 PM] Jamaros: ((...wait, I thought Kal was in the water))
[4/3/2013 9:39:28 PM] Jamaros: Right
[4/3/2013 9:39:31 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros grabs rope
[4/3/2013 9:39:35 PM] Amara: Amara attempts to cross....a little more gracefully (NOT ON HANDS AND KNEES)
[4/3/2013 9:39:46 PM] Josie: Kal was mostly in the water, yep. He's sorta about a quarter of the way through the 20 foot long waterfall.
[4/3/2013 9:39:55 PM] Josie: Well, 20 feet wide.
[4/3/2013 9:40:05 PM] Jamaros: ((Hands and knees is how you're supposed to cross))
[4/3/2013 9:40:07 PM] Josie: ... it passes over 20 feet of the path.
[4/3/2013 9:40:15 PM] Josie: And hands and knees would have actually helped.
[4/3/2013 9:40:22 PM] Amara: (( gracefully on hands and knees then! ))
[4/3/2013 9:40:25 PM] Josie: ... just not enough. the current is pretty fast.
[4/3/2013 9:40:30 PM] Josie: Roll balance/acrobatics!
[4/3/2013 9:40:34 PM] Josie: You also have the rope to help you.
[4/3/2013 9:40:51 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I suggest the two of you brace for her rather than just one person.
[4/3/2013 9:41:05 PM] Josie: Amara slips and falls!
[4/3/2013 9:41:15 PM] Josie: Roll it again, Amara, to regain your footing!
[4/3/2013 9:41:21 PM | Edited 9:41:30 PM] Khiro: ((I thought we were both holding onto it.))
[4/3/2013 9:41:28 PM] Jamaros: ((I'm holding it))
[4/3/2013 9:41:33 PM] Josie: ... well that makes up for the 99, I suspect!
[4/3/2013 9:41:40 PM] Josie: You slip five feet closer to the edge!
[4/3/2013 9:41:55 PM] Josie: Both of the men are holding onto it! Kalanor is muttering again, probably curses by the general tone of voice.
[4/3/2013 9:42:20 PM] Josie: Roll one more time, Amara!
[4/3/2013 9:42:24 PM] Jamaros: ((I should've rolled a half-orc fighter))
[4/3/2013 9:42:57 PM] Josie: Amara slips off the edge!
[4/3/2013 9:43:02 PM] Jamaros: Kalanor, don't you know any songs of strength, or something?
[4/3/2013 9:43:07 PM] Josie: ... this time both of you are prepared for it, though, and she swings down.
[4/3/2013 9:43:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor sprints across the waterfall, elfy-style, and grabs the rope behind you two.
[4/3/2013 9:43:46 PM] Jamaros: ...you have got to be fucking kidding me.
[4/3/2013 9:43:48 PM] Josie: Amara has a scary swing (and is drenched to the skin, just like Jamaros was) but ends up hanging down from the rope.
[4/3/2013 9:43:52 PM] Josie: Kalanor: What?
[4/3/2013 9:44:06 PM] Khiro: ((Elf POWAH.))
[4/3/2013 9:44:19 PM] Khiro: ((It's you fumbly humans that have all the issues!))
[4/3/2013 9:44:22 PM] Jamaros: ((To Khiro)) Why didn't you do that?
[4/3/2013 9:44:37 PM] Khiro: I wasn't in a rush.
[4/3/2013 9:44:41 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Argue later, pull her up now!
[4/3/2013 9:44:54 PM] Amara: GUYS STOP ARGUING. IF YOU DROP ME, I'LL KILL YOU ALL
[4/3/2013 9:45:00 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros pulls
[4/3/2013 9:45:05 PM] Khiro: Khiro has been pulling!
[4/3/2013 9:45:21 PM] Jamaros: ((Should I roll a str check?))
[4/3/2013 9:45:25 PM] Josie: It takes a bit of effort now that you're not being powered by sheer terror and adrenaline, but you get Amara up onto the ledge successfully.
[4/3/2013 9:45:26 PM] Josie: No need.
[4/3/2013 9:45:41 PM] Josie: Now you see a minor problem ahead, however.
[4/3/2013 9:45:50 PM] Amara: Amara hugs Khiro, Kal, and Jamaros
[4/3/2013 9:46:04 PM] Josie: You have about five feet of path ahead of you, then 10 feet of nothingness, and then the rest of the path.
[4/3/2013 9:46:05 PM] Jamaros: ((Incidently, I was wrong about Yams weight.  With the pack, it should be roughly 200 pounds.))
[4/3/2013 9:46:10 PM] Josie: Kalanor blushes awkwardly.
[4/3/2013 9:46:22 PM] Josie: No worries, you Tarzaned it.
[4/3/2013 9:46:23 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros hugs back
[4/3/2013 9:46:36 PM] Khiro: ... Well then.
[4/3/2013 9:46:39 PM] Jamaros: ((Yes I did, I am only awesome today when not trying))
[4/3/2013 9:46:44 PM] Khiro: Stupid path.
[4/3/2013 9:46:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... how do we get across that?
[4/3/2013 9:47:01 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks at it, and tosses a rock over there!
[4/3/2013 9:47:20 PM] Josie: The rock falls over there! The path is real.
[4/3/2013 9:47:28 PM] Khiro: I mean, where the path *isn't*.
[4/3/2013 9:47:31 PM] Josie: And there's really nothing between, unfortunately--no Last Crusade-style invisi-shelf.
[4/3/2013 9:47:40 PM] Khiro: Darn.
[4/3/2013 9:47:41 PM] Josie: Cira launches herself into the air again, and alights neatly on the other side, again with that incredibly *smug* look.
[4/3/2013 9:47:46 PM] Josie: Cira: Mew.
[4/3/2013 9:47:49 PM] Jamaros: ((How do the Drow come through here with prisoners?))
[4/3/2013 9:47:57 PM] Josie: ((Good question!))
[4/3/2013 9:47:59 PM] Khiro: Okay then.  Now you just carry the rest of us across, Cira.
[4/3/2013 9:48:21 PM] Josie: The cat flops over onto her back and appears to fall asleep in that insolent feline way they have.
[4/3/2013 9:48:39 PM] Jamaros: If you think I'm jumping that, with all my gear, you're mad.  I tempted fate twice today already.
[4/3/2013 9:48:56 PM] Amara: Amara mumbles "I tempted *all* the fate"
[4/3/2013 9:49:08 PM] Khiro: Was *this* here when you passed this way, Kal?
[4/3/2013 9:49:26 PM] Josie: Kal: ... I don't remember.
[4/3/2013 9:49:37 PM] Jamaros: ...Maybe we shouldn't be going across.
[4/3/2013 9:49:43 PM] Jamaros: Maybe, we should be going down.
[4/3/2013 9:49:44 PM] Josie: Kal: No, we can't give up now.
[4/3/2013 9:49:57 PM] Josie: Kal: Look, I'm pretty sure the succubus lair's over there.
[4/3/2013 9:50:06 PM] Josie: He points across the chasm off to your right and ahead.
[4/3/2013 9:50:16 PM] Josie: Kal: We just need to get over this stupid thing.
[4/3/2013 9:50:26 PM] Jamaros: Well, you'll forgive me if I don't trust your sense of direction.
[4/3/2013 9:50:41 PM] Josie: Kal flushes bright red. "I wasn't exactly myself at the time, thanks."
[4/3/2013 9:50:51 PM] Jamaros: ...what does that mean?
[4/3/2013 9:50:51 PM] Khiro: Khiro casts Expeditious Retreat on himself.  Then backs up and makes a running jump.
[4/3/2013 9:51:00 PM] Josie: Roll Acrobatics!
[4/3/2013 9:51:09 PM] Josie: Kal mutters something rude under his breath!
[4/3/2013 9:51:47 PM] Jamaros: ((Khiro, you need to roll)
[4/3/2013 9:51:54 PM] Khiro: ((Well, shit.))
[4/3/2013 9:52:03 PM] Josie: You guys have the worst luck ever.
[4/3/2013 9:52:10 PM] Josie: ... also the *best* luck ever.
[4/3/2013 9:52:14 PM | Edited 9:52:23 PM] Jamaros: ((I roll reflex to try and save him.))
[4/3/2013 9:52:18 PM] Amara: (( well...it IS called Perpetual Gloom... ))
[4/3/2013 9:52:42 PM] Josie: Ref save first, Khiro.

[4/3/2013 9:53:16 PM] Josie: Khiro gets a reflex save before we worry about that.
[4/3/2013 9:53:20 PM | Edited 9:53:29 PM] Jamaros: (y)
[4/3/2013 9:53:59 PM] Josie: Waiting for a ref check, Khiro.
[4/3/2013 9:54:42 PM] Josie: ... have I been disconnected?
[4/3/2013 9:54:45 PM] Khiro: ((Oh, wait.... Expeditious Retreat adds 30 to my speed.  "If your speed is greater than 30 feet, you gain a +4 bonus for ever 10 beyond 30... ))
[4/3/2013 9:54:51 PM] Khiro: ((Hold on, looking up the jumping rules.))
[4/3/2013 9:55:00 PM] Josie: Still not enough.
[4/3/2013 9:55:03 PM] Josie: It requires 10.
[4/3/2013 9:55:07 PM] Josie: So, ref check?
[4/3/2013 9:55:18 PM | Edited 9:55:22 PM] Josie: ((I have them open.))
[4/3/2013 9:55:49 PM] Josie: Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeef?
[4/3/2013 9:55:55 PM] Khiro: ((+4 for every 10 after 30, my base speed is currently 60, so I woudl get +12 to the roll.))
[4/3/2013 9:56:22 PM] Josie: Oh, I see!
[4/3/2013 9:56:32 PM] Josie: Yeah, hold that 18 for later, I was thinking that sentence meant something different.
[4/3/2013 9:56:37 PM] Josie: Khiro jumps across! Speedily.
[4/3/2013 9:56:46 PM] Josie: The rest of you are still on the wrong side.
[4/3/2013 9:56:48 PM] Khiro: ((Phew.))
[4/3/2013 9:56:56 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I can't do that.
[4/3/2013 9:57:00 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks around for a switch or something.
[4/3/2013 9:57:05 PM] Jamaros: ...Khiro, toss us a rope.
[4/3/2013 9:57:34 PM] Josie: Cira, interestedly: Mrow?
[4/3/2013 9:57:43 PM] Khiro: Khiro hands Cira the other end of the rope.
[4/3/2013 9:57:47 PM] Jamaros: ((incidently, can I save my 19))
[4/3/2013 9:57:50 PM] Josie: Yep.
[4/3/2013 9:57:59 PM] Khiro: Carry that across, would you?
[4/3/2013 9:58:04 PM] Josie: Cira flies across the 10 foot chasm with the rope, a bit wobbly, but she manages.
[4/3/2013 9:58:10 PM] Khiro: Good girl!
[4/3/2013 9:58:17 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros takes the end
[4/3/2013 9:58:23 PM] Josie: She hands off... well... mouths-off? the rope to Jamaros and shoots Khiro a very sarcastic look.
[4/3/2013 9:58:28 PM] Jamaros: We need somewhere to tie this.
[4/3/2013 9:58:35 PM] Josie: Kalanor looks around.
[4/3/2013 9:58:45 PM] Josie: There are a few rock outcroppings that look sturdy.
[4/3/2013 9:58:48 PM] Khiro: Khiro looks for something to tie his end to.
[4/3/2013 9:59:10 PM] Josie: Khiro finds a sort of metal hook embedded in the wall that looks like it was put there for that exact purpose.
[4/3/2013 9:59:40 PM] Khiro: Khiro checks the hook first, making sure it's secure and wont' shoot darts or anything.
[4/3/2013 9:59:45 PM] Josie: It is! And it won't.
[4/3/2013 9:59:56 PM] Khiro: Khiro ties it, then!
[4/3/2013 10:00:13 PM] Josie: You have a rope tied from one side to the other!
[4/3/2013 10:00:14 PM] Jamaros: Ok, we should be able to crawl along this rope now, which should be safer...maybe.
[4/3/2013 10:00:16 PM] Khiro: There's a hook, over here!  Is there one over there?
[4/3/2013 10:00:54 PM] Josie: You can also brace yourself against the wall as you climb.
[4/3/2013 10:01:14 PM] Jamaros: ((Yes, do we get any kind of bonus for this?))
[4/3/2013 10:01:20 PM] Josie: Yep!
[4/3/2013 10:01:22 PM] Jamaros: ((IF so, how much?))
[4/3/2013 10:01:32 PM] Josie: I'll take it into account.
[4/3/2013 10:01:52 PM] Jamaros: ((Ok, well, I'll save my 19 for if I fail and roll for now))
[4/3/2013 10:02:10 PM] Josie: Quite!
[4/3/2013 10:02:18 PM] Jamaros: ((And I crit fail.  I use my 19 to regain my balance))
[4/3/2013 10:02:24 PM] Josie: The 19 is your ref check as you jump back to the ledge where you started!
[4/3/2013 10:02:34 PM] Josie: Kalanor is muttering vaguely again.
[4/3/2013 10:02:52 PM] Jamaros: ((I try again))
[4/3/2013 10:03:00 PM] Josie: Roll for it!
[4/3/2013 10:03:10 PM] Jamaros: ((7 plus any bonuses)
[4/3/2013 10:03:15 PM] Josie: Jamaros manages to get across, bracing himself on the wall and the rope!
[4/3/2013 10:03:28 PM] Khiro: Khiro helps him over to his side of the chasm.
[4/3/2013 10:03:32 PM] Josie: Kalanor follows him; he seems to have more trouble with this, but manages anyway.
[4/3/2013 10:03:41 PM] Josie: Amara is left on the wrong side yet, but that's it!
[4/3/2013 10:03:41 PM] Khiro: Khiro helps Kal, too.
[4/3/2013 10:03:46 PM] Jamaros: What, no elven powers this time?
[4/3/2013 10:03:55 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Elven powers do not include climbing ropes.
[4/3/2013 10:04:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I can walk on snow, though.
[4/3/2013 10:04:05 PM] Khiro: Not human-made ropes, anyway.
[4/3/2013 10:04:16 PM] Amara: Amara attempts to cross
[4/3/2013 10:04:24 PM] Josie: Roll for it!
[4/3/2013 10:04:25 PM] Khiro: Yeah, they teach that to us in primary school.
[4/3/2013 10:04:33 PM] Josie: (Don't worry, most of the game will *not* be dungeoneering.)
[4/3/2013 10:04:49 PM] Josie: Amara almost slips and falls to her death, but manages to get across anyway.
[4/3/2013 10:04:59 PM] Amara: (( THANK YOU ))
[4/3/2013 10:05:04 PM] Josie: Kal seems to have the filthiest mouth ever, though--he's *always* saying something not-too-nice.
[4/3/2013 10:05:17 PM] Josie: Fortunately there's no kids around.
[4/3/2013 10:05:31 PM] Khiro: Khiro helps Amara across as well!
[4/3/2013 10:05:33 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... all right. It should be along this wall somewhere.
[4/3/2013 10:05:50 PM] Josie: Kal walks forward, peering at the walls.
[4/3/2013 10:05:56 PM] Khiro: Khiro searches!
[4/3/2013 10:06:02 PM] Josie: Roll Search or Notice, whichever is higher!
[4/3/2013 10:06:04 PM] Jamaros: Ok, hold up
[4/3/2013 10:06:37 PM] Jamaros: Maybe I missed something here, but you said you weren't yourself when you came down here before
[4/3/2013 10:06:42 PM] Jamaros: What does that mean, exactly?
[4/3/2013 10:07:21 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh, come on, you're going to worry about that here? Let's find the damn succubus lair and talk there.
[4/3/2013 10:07:37 PM] Jamaros: No, I think I will worry about that here
[4/3/2013 10:07:44 PM] Khiro: There's another trap here.
[4/3/2013 10:07:55 PM] Josie: Kalanor freezes. "... where?"
[4/3/2013 10:07:56 PM] Amara: (( 11 SM on Kal ))
[4/3/2013 10:08:28 PM] Khiro: Right here.
[4/3/2013 10:08:30 PM] Amara: Keep talking Kalanor.
[4/3/2013 10:08:31 PM] Khiro: Gimme a minute.
[4/3/2013 10:08:32 PM] Jamaros: Khiro has the traps, quit stalling
[4/3/2013 10:09:02 PM] Jamaros: What did you mean?
[4/3/2013 10:09:15 PM] Jamaros: Why is your knowledge of this cave so...selective?
[4/3/2013 10:09:20 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I meant I wasn't myself! They beat the hell out of me and cast spells on me, all right? I'm not *proud* of it.
[4/3/2013 10:09:45 PM] Amara: Spells? What kind?
[4/3/2013 10:10:08 PM] Josie: He turns *bright* red. "I'm *not* talking about it."
[4/3/2013 10:10:26 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros smirks
[4/3/2013 10:10:29 PM] Amara: Amara shoves him. "That's it. I'm sick of this bullshit."
[4/3/2013 10:10:35 PM] Jamaros: And you all accuse me of being untrustworthy
[4/3/2013 10:10:36 PM] Amara: "Tell us what the hell happened."
[4/3/2013 10:10:48 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Hey, be careful, there's a ledge here, all right?
[4/3/2013 10:11:00 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Is the trap safe, Khiro?
[4/3/2013 10:11:07 PM] Amara: Oh I know.  Piss me off, I'll push you over.
[4/3/2013 10:11:20 PM] Josie: (There is a ledge here off to your right.)
[4/3/2013 10:11:24 PM] Jamaros: ((You should probably roll an intimidation check))
[4/3/2013 10:11:35 PM] Josie: Good point!
[4/3/2013 10:12:07 PM] Josie: Kalanor: If you kill me, my sister will die.
[4/3/2013 10:12:18 PM] Jamaros: Not really caring.
[4/3/2013 10:12:25 PM] Amara: Talk.
[4/3/2013 10:12:29 PM] Jamaros: I don't know you or your sister.
[4/3/2013 10:12:58 PM] Khiro: You agreed to take his money.
[4/3/2013 10:13:04 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Just let me find the switch first!
[4/3/2013 10:13:06 PM] Khiro: We all have our secrets.
[4/3/2013 10:13:23 PM] Jamaros: Maybe, but my secrets won't get you killed.
[4/3/2013 10:13:28 PM] Jamaros: His might.
[4/3/2013 10:13:29 PM] Josie: He touches the wall with a hint of desperation.
[4/3/2013 10:13:31 PM] Khiro: We only have your word for that.
[4/3/2013 10:13:45 PM] Khiro: Trap's disarmed.
[4/3/2013 10:13:54 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... thank the gods. Help me find the door, someone.
[4/3/2013 10:13:59 PM] Khiro: Khiro nods.
[4/3/2013 10:14:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor's face is now chalk-white.
[4/3/2013 10:14:17 PM] Josie: ... it makes the freckles stand out.
[4/3/2013 10:14:20 PM] Jamaros: ...Amara, we're not getting anywhere, you should let him go.
[4/3/2013 10:14:43 PM] Amara: Amara waves the comment off. "I'm done with him for now."
[4/3/2013 10:14:57 PM] Josie: There's a clicking noise, and a whole slab in the door swings inward.
[4/3/2013 10:15:38 PM] Josie: Kalanor steps in first, hastily.
[4/3/2013 10:15:45 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros follows
[4/3/2013 10:15:49 PM] Josie: ... there's a welcome mat.
[4/3/2013 10:15:57 PM] Khiro: Homey.
[4/3/2013 10:16:08 PM] Jamaros: ...this is not what I was expecting.
[4/3/2013 10:16:11 PM] Josie: There's also a comfy little couch, a fireplace, two armchairs, a little shelf and kitchenette area on one side of the room.
[4/3/2013 10:16:19 PM] Josie: There's wood for the fireplace, but the fire isn't lit.
[4/3/2013 10:16:24 PM] Josie: Everything looks a bit dusty.
[4/3/2013 10:16:35 PM] Amara: This is kind of out of place. And eerie.
[4/3/2013 10:16:36 PM] Josie: There's also a door across the room from you.
[4/3/2013 10:16:39 PM] Jamaros: ...looks like nobody's been through in a while.
[4/3/2013 10:17:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Yes, well, like I said before. The story goes that the succubus left with a paladin.
[4/3/2013 10:17:29 PM | Edited 10:17:46 PM] Amara: I thought paladins usually avoided things like succubi?
[4/3/2013 10:17:41 PM | Edited 10:17:54 PM] Khiro: Maybe it was a special form of rehabilitation.
[4/3/2013 10:17:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor opens the bedroom door and steps in. "Yes, well. To each her own."
[4/3/2013 10:17:49 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros starts whistling an ominous tune.
[4/3/2013 10:18:35 PM] Jamaros: I heard tell once of a Bard who rescued a succubi from a wizard, thinking her a maiden.
[4/3/2013 10:18:53 PM] Jamaros: His kindness and charm wooed her and cured her of her evil.
[4/3/2013 10:18:57 PM] Amara: Amara pulls out her yo-yo. "I assume it is just lore."
[4/3/2013 10:19:01 PM] Jamaros: Maybe this Paladin did the same.
[4/3/2013 10:19:15 PM] Jamaros: ...yeah, just a story...
[4/3/2013 10:19:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor stumbles back out again.
[4/3/2013 10:19:33 PM] Josie: His hands are up.
[4/3/2013 10:19:39 PM] Amara: Find anything interesting, Kal?
[4/3/2013 10:19:42 PM] Josie: There's a woman behind him holding a knife to his throat.
[4/3/2013 10:19:48 PM] Khiro: Hrm.  Apparently.
[4/3/2013 10:19:48 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Interesting. Yes.
[4/3/2013 10:19:51 PM] Jamaros: Very interesting
[4/3/2013 10:19:54 PM] Josie: Woman: Who are you?
[4/3/2013 10:20:03 PM] Amara: ...visitors?
[4/3/2013 10:20:03 PM] Khiro: It's been a long day.
[4/3/2013 10:20:07 PM] Jamaros: Would you believe bible salesmen?
[4/3/2013 10:20:19 PM] Amara: We got lost. Thought, hey this place looks cozy!
[4/3/2013 10:20:35 PM] Josie: Woman: I don't need a bible. Nobody comes here, it's supposed to be deserted. Why are you here? And why are you with *him*?
[4/3/2013 10:20:50 PM] Jamaros: With him is a bit of an overstatement
[4/3/2013 10:20:53 PM] Josie: She tugs him closer to her, by his hair, and digs the knife into his neck a bit.
[4/3/2013 10:21:03 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Be... careful.
[4/3/2013 10:21:04 PM] Amara: What grudge do you hold against him?
[4/3/2013 10:21:04 PM] Khiro: Let's put the knife down and discuss this like reasonable sociopaths.
[4/3/2013 10:22:22 PM] Jamaros: Actually, we know veyr little about him, can you tell us anything we should know?
[4/3/2013 10:22:22 PM] Josie: The woman is probably around age 30 or so, maybe a little younger; she has black hair that's been braided and knotted into a bun, and she's wearing chain armor of some kind, along with a spiky-looking set of chains.
[4/3/2013 10:22:34 PM] Josie: Woman: He's a slaver.
[4/3/2013 10:22:43 PM] Jamaros: Really?!?
[4/3/2013 10:22:43 PM] Josie: Woman: And I'm *not* putting down my knife.
[4/3/2013 10:22:50 PM] Josie: Kalanor, indignantly: I am not!
[4/3/2013 10:22:57 PM] Josie: Woman: Liar.
[4/3/2013 10:23:18 PM] Josie: Kalanor takes a deep breath in as a little dribble of blood runs down his neck.
[4/3/2013 10:23:39 PM | Edited 10:23:52 PM] Amara: So....why are *you* down here? (to the woman)
[4/3/2013 10:23:42 PM] Jamaros: Now, Kal, I want to believe you, but she is making a compelling argument.
[4/3/2013 10:24:04 PM] Josie: Kalanor: A knife to the throat isn't a *hrk* argument!
[4/3/2013 10:24:15 PM] Josie: Woman: To kill as many slavers as I can. Why are you?
[4/3/2013 10:24:27 PM] Jamaros: We came looking for a missing elven girl
[4/3/2013 10:24:35 PM] Jamaros: He claimed to be her brother
[4/3/2013 10:24:47 PM] Josie: Woman: Ha!
[4/3/2013 10:25:08 PM] Josie: Woman: That's hilarious. What else did he say?
[4/3/2013 10:25:17 PM] Khiro: He hired us to rescue her.
[4/3/2013 10:25:31 PM] Josie: Woman: He hired you to kidnap her, you mean.
[4/3/2013 10:25:40 PM] Khiro: What's his name?
[4/3/2013 10:25:49 PM] Josie: Kalanor: No! *They* kidnapped her, not me, please, don't listen to her!
[4/3/2013 10:25:50 PM] Khiro: If you know him, what's his name?
[4/3/2013 10:25:50 PM] Amara: I am not saying this guy is as trustworthy as my grandmother, but do we have reason to trust her either??
[4/3/2013 10:26:07 PM] Josie: Woman: I don't know his name. I don't have to, though, I *saw* him.
[4/3/2013 10:26:16 PM] Khiro: Enslaving people?
[4/3/2013 10:26:19 PM] Khiro: Where?
[4/3/2013 10:26:35 PM] Jamaros: *whispers to Amara* she is definitely convinced of what she's saying.  I can't get a read on Kalanor
[4/3/2013 10:27:06 PM] Josie: Woman: Here. He stumbled up the tunnels here, and I *saw* him.
[4/3/2013 10:27:12 PM] Jamaros: Look, how about we continue this discussion civily
[4/3/2013 10:27:13 PM] Khiro: Doing what?
[4/3/2013 10:27:39 PM] Josie: Woman: Being *himself.* Show them what you look like, slaver. *Show them.*
[4/3/2013 10:27:52 PM] Jamaros: ...show us what?
[4/3/2013 10:28:16 PM] Josie: She yoinks his head back a little bit; Kalanor gurgles, eyes looking to each one of you in turn, desperate for help!
[4/3/2013 10:28:27 PM] Jamaros: STOP!
[4/3/2013 10:28:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't know what you're talking about!
[4/3/2013 10:28:34 PM] Jamaros: Let's make a deal
[4/3/2013 10:28:39 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros pulls out rope
[4/3/2013 10:28:46 PM] Jamaros: How about this, I toss you the rope
[4/3/2013 10:28:49 PM] Josie: Woman: I don't *deal* with slavers.
[4/3/2013 10:28:54 PM] Khiro: Khiro sighs.  "This has been the worst day."
[4/3/2013 10:28:58 PM] Jamaros: You tie him up and put down the knife
[4/3/2013 10:29:15 PM] Jamaros: Then, we hear everything.
[4/3/2013 10:29:23 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I'm not a slaver!
[4/3/2013 10:29:27 PM] Amara: (( can I use Mage Hand to get the knife? Or would it not work because she's holding it? ))
[4/3/2013 10:29:35 PM] Josie: It wouldn't work because she's holding it.
[4/3/2013 10:29:59 PM] Jamaros: ((maybe you can use it to knock her out with something in the room))
[4/3/2013 10:30:18 PM] Josie: There's nothing here, really, apart from furniture.
[4/3/2013 10:30:22 PM] Amara: (( well I have sleep...so I could knock her out with that instead ))
[4/3/2013 10:30:26 PM] Josie: All of which takes more than Mage Hand to lift.
[4/3/2013 10:30:40 PM] Khiro: Khiro casts a spell!
[4/3/2013 10:31:22 PM] Josie: The woman cuts into Kalanor, but only a little, as she wobbles, and slumps onto the ground, unconscious.
[4/3/2013 10:31:47 PM] Josie: Kalanor grabs his neck to stop the blood flow and then casts some sort of spell, quickly, before he relaxes.
[4/3/2013 10:31:56 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros draws his sword on Kal
[4/3/2013 10:32:00 PM] Jamaros: Don't move.
[4/3/2013 10:32:07 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... great. Fine.
[4/3/2013 10:32:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor puts his hands up.
[4/3/2013 10:32:21 PM] Jamaros: What were you doing?
[4/3/2013 10:32:28 PM] Josie: Kalanor: What was I doing when?
[4/3/2013 10:32:37 PM] Jamaros: Just now, you were casting a spell
[4/3/2013 10:32:48 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Making sure I didn't bleed to death.
[4/3/2013 10:33:00 PM] Jamaros: ...ah...ok...you mind filling us in here?
[4/3/2013 10:33:06 PM] Josie: Kalanor: About what?
[4/3/2013 10:33:12 PM] Jamaros: Who is she?
[4/3/2013 10:33:19 PM] Jamaros: Why did she call you a slaver?
[4/3/2013 10:33:31 PM] Jamaros: And exactly how you know your way around here?
[4/3/2013 10:33:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't know, I've never seen her before in my life. ... well, not that I recall, anyway.
[4/3/2013 10:33:52 PM] Jamaros: NOT THAT YOU RECALL!
[4/3/2013 10:34:01 PM] Jamaros: She remembered you pretty fucking well!
[4/3/2013 10:34:19 PM] Jamaros: Incidently, why are neither of you tying her up?
[4/3/2013 10:34:30 PM] Amara: Amara casts animate rope to tie her up.
[4/3/2013 10:34:30 PM] Khiro: Why aren't you?
[4/3/2013 10:34:32 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She could have been magicked, all right? There are lot of people that can cast spells and... well I'm not because you're holding a sword on me!
[4/3/2013 10:34:35 PM] Jamaros: I have him.
[4/3/2013 10:34:53 PM] Khiro: He could have killed us several times by now.
[4/3/2013 10:35:05 PM] Jamaros: He didn't need to until now.
[4/3/2013 10:35:06 PM] Khiro: I doubt *now* is the moment he's going to turn on us, if he is.
[4/3/2013 10:35:16 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Why would I hire you and bring you all the way down here just to kill you?
[4/3/2013 10:35:25 PM] Josie: He glares at Jamaros. "I saved your *life.*"
[4/3/2013 10:35:36 PM] Jamaros: ...
[4/3/2013 10:35:54 PM] Jamaros: Are you a slaver?
[4/3/2013 10:36:05 PM] Josie: Kalanor: No!
[4/3/2013 10:36:07 PM] Amara: Let's talk, Kal. You came down here before. You said you weren't yourself. Now seems like the *perfect* time to explain what that means.
[4/3/2013 10:36:12 PM] Josie: (Feel free to SM!))
[4/3/2013 10:36:55 PM] Khiro: He's not a slaver.
[4/3/2013 10:37:08 PM] Jamaros: He doesn't think he's a slaver, or he's a very good liar
[4/3/2013 10:37:56 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Can you just... put the sword down?
[4/3/2013 10:38:04 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros puts his sword away
[4/3/2013 10:38:08 PM] Jamaros: We're taking her with us.
[4/3/2013 10:38:22 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... why?
[4/3/2013 10:38:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She's dead weight.
[4/3/2013 10:38:30 PM] Amara: Hello? Am I here? Does anybody else see me standing here? What did you mean - you weren't yourself?
[4/3/2013 10:38:35 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She'd slow us down.
[4/3/2013 10:38:42 PM] Jamaros: Because she might have answers
[4/3/2013 10:38:59 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I mean I wasn't myself, all right? People beat the hell out of me and cast spells on me and kidnapped my sister! I was.... *upset.*
[4/3/2013 10:39:02 PM] Khiro: Kalanor, they're not going to trust you until you come clean about whatever you're holding back.
[4/3/2013 10:39:19 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I didn't pay you to *trust* me.
[4/3/2013 10:39:27 PM] Khiro: No.
[4/3/2013 10:39:36 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Then wake her the hell up and ask her questions! She's tied up.
[4/3/2013 10:39:49 PM] Khiro: But we're not going into the lion's den for you without some truth.
[4/3/2013 10:40:03 PM] Jamaros: You guys go on into another room.
[4/3/2013 10:40:11 PM] Jamaros: I'm gonna wake her up and question her
[4/3/2013 10:40:26 PM] Khiro: No, we need to stay together at this point.
[4/3/2013 10:40:48 PM] Jamaros: I'm not sure we're going to be able to get anything from her with him in the room.
[4/3/2013 10:40:58 PM] Jamaros: If it's just me, she might be less threatened.
[4/3/2013 10:41:07 PM] Khiro: Sure you will.  She didn't seem liek she was holding anything back.
[4/3/2013 10:41:31 PM] Josie: Kalanor: The truth is that *someone* accosted me, and my sister, and I wasn't strong enough to stop them, and they beat me within an inch of my life and t... and cast spells at me, and now I'm trying as hard as I can to damn well rescue her, even if it costs me my family's entire fortune. THAT is the truth.
[4/3/2013 10:41:43 PM] Khiro: ...what spells?
[4/3/2013 10:41:50 PM] Khiro: You're very vague on that point.
[4/3/2013 10:41:52 PM] Jamaros: Then when did you come down here?
[4/3/2013 10:41:56 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... Fine. I'll just be in here, all right?
[4/3/2013 10:42:05 PM] Josie: He stomps into the bedroom and slams the door behind him, hard.
[4/3/2013 10:42:21 PM] Amara: ...Should someone follow him?
[4/3/2013 10:42:22 PM] Josie: Cira, meekly: Mew?
[4/3/2013 10:42:32 PM] Khiro: ... I'll go.
[4/3/2013 10:42:34 PM] Jamaros: Probably.  Amara, why don't you go.
[4/3/2013 10:42:40 PM] Jamaros: I'm not sure that's wise.
[4/3/2013 10:42:43 PM] Jamaros: Khiro.
[4/3/2013 10:42:45 PM] Khiro: Why?
[4/3/2013 10:42:51 PM] Amara: Amara follows Kal into the room.
[4/3/2013 10:43:00 PM] Khiro: I'm the only one that hasn't threatened him.
[4/3/2013 10:43:14 PM] Jamaros: ...exactly, in fact, you've been defending him from the start.
[4/3/2013 10:43:41 PM] Josie: Cira follows Amara.
[4/3/2013 10:43:53 PM] Khiro: Oh, really?  That's where you're taking this?
[4/3/2013 10:44:25 PM] Josie: ... then, being a cat, turns right back around and sits between Khiro and Jamaros, watching you by turns.
[4/3/2013 10:44:32 PM] Jamaros: I'm just saying, it might be better to let Amara watch him.
[4/3/2013 10:44:52 PM] Jamaros: She's very powerful and can handle herself.
[4/3/2013 10:45:12 PM] Khiro: Khiro shrugs.
[4/3/2013 10:45:27 PM] Jamaros: ...also, I might need you to undo your spell on her.
[4/3/2013 10:45:58 PM] Khiro: I didn't cast it.
[4/3/2013 10:46:06 PM] Jamaros: ...I thought you did.
[4/3/2013 10:46:10 PM] Jamaros: ...sorry.
[4/3/2013 10:46:25 PM] Josie: The woman stirs a bit.
[4/3/2013 10:46:37 PM] Jamaros: Ah good, she seems to be coming round.
[4/3/2013 10:46:42 PM] Khiro: I was casting something, but I think Amara beat me to it.
[4/3/2013 10:46:59 PM] Jamaros: ...I don't think so, I didn't see Amara cast anything.
[4/3/2013 10:47:24 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros tries and hurry the woman's awakening.
[4/3/2013 10:47:26 PM] Amara: (( Amara only did animate rope.))
[4/3/2013 10:47:38 PM] Josie: She sits up on her own. "I wondered when you'd notice that."
[4/3/2013 10:47:57 PM] Jamaros: ...hello?
[4/3/2013 10:48:20 PM] Jamaros: ...so, I'm gonna assume you didn't knock yourself out.
[4/3/2013 10:48:41 PM] Josie: Woman: No, but I'm pretty good at faking it. What are you planning to do with me now, sell me to him? His people?
[4/3/2013 10:49:07 PM] Jamaros: ...actually, I just have a few questions.  What's your name?
[4/3/2013 10:49:37 PM] Josie: Woman: Tae Li.
[4/3/2013 10:49:58 PM] Jamaros: Tae Li, that's nice, my name is Jamaros Darksbane, and this is my associate, Khiro.
[4/3/2013 10:50:20 PM] Josie: She shrugs.
[4/3/2013 10:50:43 PM] Jamaros: Anyway, what can you tell us about our friend here?
[4/3/2013 10:50:50 PM] Jamaros: You said he was a slaver.
[4/3/2013 10:51:22 PM] Josie: Tae Li: He *is*.
[4/3/2013 10:51:43 PM] Jamaros: And what are you basing this on, exactly?
[4/3/2013 10:52:08 PM] Jamaros: ((...just to check, are Amara and Khiro still here))
[4/3/2013 10:52:14 PM] Khiro: ((I am.))
[4/3/2013 10:52:15 PM] Josie: ((Nope, they're in the succubus-bedroom.))
[4/3/2013 10:52:21 PM] Josie: ((Er, Amara and Kal are.))
[4/3/2013 10:52:27 PM] Jamaros: ((Ok, just wanted to be certain))
[4/3/2013 10:52:30 PM] Josie: Khiro and Cira are still here.
[4/3/2013 10:52:45 PM] Josie: Tae Li: He's Drow, isn't he? They all keep slaves.
[4/3/2013 10:52:56 PM] Jamaros: ...I'm sorry, he's a what?
[4/3/2013 10:53:14 PM] Khiro: Huh.  Well, that makes sense.
[4/3/2013 10:53:40 PM] Josie: Tae Li: He's Drow. Dark elves. Underdark-dwellers, slavers, monsters.
[4/3/2013 10:53:58 PM] Jamaros: Thank you, I am familiar with Drow.  ...and you've seen him, as a drow?
[4/3/2013 10:54:11 PM] Josie: Tae Li: Yes. You didn't really think he was an elf, did you?
[4/3/2013 10:54:43 PM] Jamaros: ...Khiro, did you have any idea about this?
[4/3/2013 10:55:00 PM] Jamaros: Nevermind.
[4/3/2013 10:55:22 PM] Jamaros: So, you've seen him change?
[4/3/2013 10:55:28 PM] Jamaros: Do you know how he does it?
[4/3/2013 10:55:42 PM] Khiro: I had no idea, but it makes sense.
[4/3/2013 10:56:04 PM] Jamaros: How does this make sense?  Why would he bring us here and get us this far if he was a drow?
[4/3/2013 10:56:11 PM] Josie: You hear music from inside the bedroom. A harp.
[4/3/2013 10:56:21 PM] Josie: Tae Li: How do you think they get slaves?
[4/3/2013 10:56:56 PM] Khiro: Khiro shakes his head.  "Drow houses are at each others throats all the time."
[4/3/2013 10:57:09 PM] Khiro: His sister got kidnapped by a rival house, that's what he said.
[4/3/2013 10:57:34 PM] Jamaros: ...Drow kidnapping other drow.
[4/3/2013 10:57:50 PM] Khiro: Why would they be any more unified than surface elves or humans?
[4/3/2013 10:58:05 PM] Jamaros: ...why is he playing music?
[4/3/2013 10:58:24 PM] Josie: Tae Li: ... he isn't a music-mage, is he?
[4/3/2013 10:58:29 PM] Josie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgSKXUzelRU
[4/3/2013 10:58:41 PM] Jamaros: ...AMARA!
[4/3/2013 10:58:50 PM] Khiro: Ill go check on Amara.
[4/3/2013 10:59:06 PM] Jamaros: Go, I'll keep watch here.
[4/3/2013 10:59:15 PM] Josie: Cira murrs fretfully.
[4/3/2013 10:59:25 PM] Khiro: Khiro goes to poke his head into the succubus bedroom.
[4/3/2013 10:59:29 PM] Josie: Tae Li: He's a slaver, that's the long and short of it.
[4/3/2013 10:59:41 PM] Jamaros: Not quite.  How'd you end up here?
[4/3/2013 10:59:47 PM] Josie: You hear through the door before Khiro gets there, "STOP FREAKING SHOUTING."
[4/3/2013 10:59:51 PM] Josie: In Amara's voice.
[4/3/2013 11:00:02 PM] Khiro: She's fine.
[4/3/2013 11:00:05 PM] Josie: Tae Li: I'm preparing for an attack on the Drow.
[4/3/2013 11:00:17 PM] Jamaros: ...just you?  Not much of an attack.
[4/3/2013 11:00:44 PM] Josie: Tae Li: I have a better chance of getting in than an army.
[4/3/2013 11:01:45 PM] Jamaros: ((back))
[4/3/2013 11:02:07 PM] Josie: Tae Li: Besides, the point isn't to kill them, it's to free slaves. Though the more of them I kill the better, as far as I'm concerned.
[4/3/2013 11:02:27 PM] Jamaros: ...how long have you been here?
[4/3/2013 11:03:02 PM] Josie: Tae Li: About three days. It took me a while to get past the traps without triggering them, and past the monster.
[4/3/2013 11:03:26 PM] Jamaros: And what have you been trained in?
[4/3/2013 11:03:56 PM] Josie: Tae Li: I'm a soldier.
[4/3/2013 11:04:08 PM] Jamaros: For how long?
[4/3/2013 11:04:23 PM] Jamaros: Roughly, how experienced?
[4/3/2013 11:04:41 PM] Khiro: Khiro is poking around the room.
[4/3/2013 11:04:45 PM] Josie: Tae Li: Six years. I enlisted twice. What difference does it make?
[4/3/2013 11:05:02 PM] Jamaros: ...do you know any of the rest of this cave?
[4/3/2013 11:05:10 PM] Khiro: How many daring single person slave raids have you successfully made?
[4/3/2013 11:05:29 PM] Josie: Tae Li: Not much, and two. All of them in Tarkishi.
[4/3/2013 11:05:40 PM] Jamaros: You're Tarkishi?
[4/3/2013 11:06:07 PM] Josie: Tae Li: No, but I've lived there.
[4/3/2013 11:06:27 PM] Jamaros: Good, if you were Tarkishi, I couldn't let you go.
[4/3/2013 11:06:48 PM] Khiro: How many in the Underdark, though?  In a drow city?
[4/3/2013 11:07:26 PM | Removed 11:07:40 PM] Josie: This message has been removed.
[4/3/2013 11:07:54 PM] Josie: Tae Li: Not a lot. None. But any one I  manage is one free person at least.
[4/3/2013 11:08:15 PM] Jamaros: ...hold on one second.
[4/3/2013 11:08:23 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros walks over to Khiro
[4/3/2013 11:08:50 PM] Jamaros: *whispers to Khiro* I say we take her with us.  She has a better knowledge of drow than us and is a trained soldier.
[4/3/2013 11:09:34 PM] Khiro: ... she's crazy.  She's not going to help us rescue a drow.
[4/3/2013 11:09:49 PM] Jamaros: No, but she will help us rescue slaves.
[4/3/2013 11:10:02 PM] Jamaros: Our goals are overlapping right now, and we can use that.
[4/3/2013 11:11:05 PM] Khiro: ... she won't help us unless we help her rescue slaves.  From a drow stronghold.  Slaves we have to escort back to the surface through the Underdark.  Logistical nightmare.
[4/3/2013 11:12:22 PM] Jamaros: As far as we know, his sister is already in the stronghold.  We can't leave her here, we can't trust Kalanor not to betray us.  She can be invaluable to us right now.  Then, when we get Kal's sister, we bolt.
[4/3/2013 11:12:42 PM] Jamaros: She doesn't have to know that's our intention.
[4/3/2013 11:14:55 PM] Khiro: I don't think Kal will betray us.  We're his only hope for getting his sister back.  If he had any other recourse, he wouldn't have come to us.  But I hear what you're saying.  Okay.
[4/3/2013 11:15:10 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros nods and goes back to Tae Li
[4/3/2013 11:15:21 PM] Jamaros: ...ok, Tae Li, I have an offer for you.
[4/3/2013 11:15:41 PM] Josie: Tae Li, warily: What sort?
[4/3/2013 11:15:52 PM] Jamaros: You want to free slaves, and how can we possibly not support that.
[4/3/2013 11:16:11 PM] Jamaros: We are here to free a particular slave.
[4/3/2013 11:16:30 PM] Jamaros: As such, it seems as though we have mutually beneficial goals.
[4/3/2013 11:16:38 PM] Jamaros: So, my proposal.
[4/3/2013 11:16:43 PM] Jamaros: We set you free
[4/3/2013 11:17:00 PM] Jamaros: You come with us and don't kill Kal, even if he is a colossal dick
[4/3/2013 11:17:23 PM] Jamaros: Together, we free the slaves much faster than you ever could've on your own
[4/3/2013 11:17:33 PM] Jamaros: And we all leave happily.
[4/3/2013 11:17:51 PM] Jamaros: Once we get paid, you are free to kill Kal to your heart's content.
[4/3/2013 11:17:56 PM] Jamaros: Sound fair?
[4/3/2013 11:18:29 PM] Josie: Roll bluff!
[4/3/2013 11:18:53 PM] Jamaros: ((25 bluff))
[4/3/2013 11:19:18 PM] Josie: Tae Li: ... we kill him first, then free the slaves.
[4/3/2013 11:19:38 PM] Jamaros: Nope, we need him.  He knows his way around better than any of us.
[4/3/2013 11:20:05 PM] Jamaros: That's the deal, or, my friend throws you down that nice pit back in the corridor.  Your choice.
[4/3/2013 11:20:36 PM] Jamaros: ((roll bluff?))
[4/3/2013 11:21:06 PM] Josie: Yep.
[4/3/2013 11:21:28 PM] Josie: Tae Li: You wouldn't *dare.*
[4/3/2013 11:21:29 PM] Jamaros: ((OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH, Who's the man?!?))
[4/3/2013 11:21:40 PM] Jamaros: Try me,
[4/3/2013 11:22:06 PM] Khiro: We don't even *know* you.
[4/3/2013 11:22:14 PM] Josie: Tae Li: I don't work with slavers. I'm leaving.
[4/3/2013 11:22:27 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros shrugs.  "Ok".
[4/3/2013 11:22:34 PM] Khiro: I'm guessing you're saying he's a slaver because he's a drow.
[4/3/2013 11:22:43 PM] Josie: Tae Li: And?
[4/3/2013 11:22:50 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros grabs Tae Li by her ropes tugs.
[4/3/2013 11:22:54 PM] Khiro: Just getting the facts straight.
[4/3/2013 11:23:01 PM] Jamaros: Well, you have a nice date with the bottom of a pit then.
[4/3/2013 11:23:07 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros pulls her out
[4/3/2013 11:23:11 PM | Edited 11:23:22 PM] Jamaros: Khiro, a hand here?
[4/3/2013 11:23:42 PM] Khiro: Khiro shrugs and moves over.
[4/3/2013 11:23:51 PM] Josie: Tae Li screams.
[4/3/2013 11:24:02 PM] Khiro: Be reasonable.
[4/3/2013 11:24:08 PM] Jamaros: Oh yes, scream for all the people not here to save you.
[4/3/2013 11:24:18 PM] Jamaros: I'm sure they'll come running.
[4/3/2013 11:24:20 PM] Josie: Kalanor runs in!
[4/3/2013 11:24:27 PM] Josie: Kalanor: What the hell is going on?
[4/3/2013 11:24:34 PM] Amara: Amara runs in, too!
[4/3/2013 11:24:35 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Are you *torturing* her?
[4/3/2013 11:24:42 PM] Jamaros: We're doing you a favor, Kal.
[4/3/2013 11:24:46 PM] Josie: He looks at Jamaros, and then Khiro.
[4/3/2013 11:24:51 PM] Jamaros: We're ridding you of someone who wants you dead.
[4/3/2013 11:24:53 PM] Josie: Cira: Mrorw!
[4/3/2013 11:24:56 PM] Khiro: She wants to kill you because you're a drow.
[4/3/2013 11:25:03 PM] Amara: I leave you guys for a few minutes, and this is what happens. Damn.
[4/3/2013 11:25:20 PM] Khiro: We were trying to come to some kind of agreement, but.
[4/3/2013 11:25:27 PM] Amara: Agreement!
[4/3/2013 11:25:27 PM] Jamaros: You know what, I have some poison in my pocket, that might be more fun to watch.
[4/3/2013 11:25:30 PM] Josie: Kalanor turns red. "So you're just going to... kill a tied-up person?"
[4/3/2013 11:25:32 PM] Amara: This doesn't look like an agreement!
[4/3/2013 11:25:41 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Are you insane?
[4/3/2013 11:25:55 PM] Jamaros: I have stuff that can make you writhe and wriggle in all kinds of pain.
[4/3/2013 11:26:01 PM] Amara: Amara looks at Kalanor. "She *did* try to kill you. You might want to remember that."
[4/3/2013 11:26:07 PM] Jamaros: Oh, wait, no, that's silly.
[4/3/2013 11:26:15 PM] Jamaros: We have acid.  Stupid me
[4/3/2013 11:26:21 PM] Jamaros: That's even better.
[4/3/2013 11:26:39 PM] Jamaros: ((19 to intimidate))
[4/3/2013 11:26:39 PM] Amara: Sociopaths. I am surrounded by sociopaths.
[4/3/2013 11:26:44 PM] Josie: Kalanor draws his sword.
[4/3/2013 11:27:05 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I am *not* paying you to kill prisoners, I'm paying  you to save my sister! What the hell are you thinking?!
[4/3/2013 11:27:17 PM] Khiro: You have an advocate, Tae Li.  Still want to kill him?
[4/3/2013 11:27:33 PM] Josie: Tae Li: It's a transparent ruse.
[4/3/2013 11:27:41 PM] Josie: Tae Li: He's been listening the whole time.
[4/3/2013 11:28:14 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Just... get away from her.
[4/3/2013 11:28:22 PM] Jamaros: ...fine
[4/3/2013 11:28:26 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros drops her
[4/3/2013 11:28:34 PM] Josie: Kalanor: If you want to kill her, fine, untie the ropes, give her a weapon.
[4/3/2013 11:28:45 PM] Jamaros: No, I have a better idea.
[4/3/2013 11:28:49 PM | Edited 11:28:53 PM] Amara: Kalanor, why do you care so much now?
[4/3/2013 11:29:14 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros pulls out some Drow poison and shoves it into Tai Le's mouth.
[4/3/2013 11:29:27 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She's a prisoner, you maniac... what was that? What *was* that?
[4/3/2013 11:29:39 PM] Jamaros: Relax
[4/3/2013 11:29:42 PM] Josie: She gurgles a bit., but you can make her swallow it.
[4/3/2013 11:29:54 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros does make her swallow it.
[4/3/2013 11:29:58 PM] Khiro: What are you *doing*?!
[4/3/2013 11:30:13 PM] Josie: Kalanor looks at Khiro, desperately, and then tackles Jamaros.
[4/3/2013 11:30:16 PM] Jamaros: She'll be fine, it just knocks you unconcious for a while
[4/3/2013 11:30:20 PM] Josie: Tae Li swallows.
[4/3/2013 11:30:56 PM] Josie: Kalanor: You lunatic, you... what?
[4/3/2013 11:31:01 PM] Jamaros: She'll sleep for roughly 8 hours then wake up, good as new.
[4/3/2013 11:31:17 PM] Josie: Kalanor gets off of Jamaros's head. "... Oh."
[4/3/2013 11:31:35 PM] Josie: He reddens. "I thought... nevermind."
[4/3/2013 11:31:38 PM] Jamaros: Actually, she didn't swallow all of it, so I give her about 5.
[4/3/2013 11:31:50 PM] Amara: Amara turns to Kalanor. "For someone who wanted to kill you, you sure care about her fate."
[4/3/2013 11:32:27 PM] Josie: Kalanor: No, there's just... ways you treat prisoners and ways you don't.
[4/3/2013 11:32:45 PM] Josie: Cira licks Tae Li's face.
[4/3/2013 11:32:56 PM] Amara: ...are you familiar with treating prisoners?...
[4/3/2013 11:33:10 PM] Jamaros: Oh, I'm sure he is.
[4/3/2013 11:33:23 PM] Jamaros: Drow tend to keep lots of them, don't they?
[4/3/2013 11:33:30 PM] Amara: Jamaros, did I *ask* for your godsdammn opinion!!
[4/3/2013 11:33:57 PM] Josie: Kalanor, with great sarcasm: Oh yes, I like to furnish my home with prisoners. They make lovely footrests.
[4/3/2013 11:34:13 PM] Jamaros: you should've told us from the start.
[4/3/2013 11:34:31 PM] Amara: Sarcasm? Really? After such a long hell-ish day?  UNNECCESSARY.
[4/3/2013 11:34:37 PM] Khiro: Khiro snickers.
[4/3/2013 11:34:39 PM] Khiro: Funny, though.
[4/3/2013 11:34:57 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh yes, and you would have certainly travelled into the Underdark to rescue a Drow princess, would you?
[4/3/2013 11:35:15 PM] Jamaros: Would you know I wouldn't.  I'm a fucking theif!
[4/3/2013 11:35:18 PM] Jamaros: *thief
[4/3/2013 11:35:28 PM] Jamaros: Do I seem like the type of guy to get picky about my company!
[4/3/2013 11:35:44 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Last time I checked your people didn't exactly have warm fuzzy feelings about *my* people!
[4/3/2013 11:36:11 PM | Edited 11:36:20 PM] Amara: Hey I'd rather face Drow, than face my father, so I still would've done it.
[4/3/2013 11:36:19 PM] Jamaros: Yeah, well my people aren't too warm or fuzzy with me, but you know what, how do I know to trust you now?
[4/3/2013 11:36:52 PM] Jamaros: I never minced words about who I am or what I do, and if you expect me to follow you, I expect the same.
[4/3/2013 11:36:59 PM] Josie: Kalanor throws up his hands. "You *don't*!"
[4/3/2013 11:37:10 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... fine. *Fine.*
[4/3/2013 11:37:16 PM] Jamaros: Fine!
[4/3/2013 11:37:44 PM] Josie: He drops whatever illusion is covering him up, and turns into... well it's actually quite anticlimactic. He turns into himself, but with black skin and white hair.
[4/3/2013 11:37:58 PM] Josie: His eyes are very blue.
[4/3/2013 11:38:38 PM] Jamaros: Ok...so, before she who sleeps with spiders wakes up, which way do we go from here?
[4/3/2013 11:38:57 PM] Amara: Don't bring up spiders, not again, I've had enough spiders for the day.
[4/3/2013 11:39:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... why would she sleep with a spider?
[4/3/2013 11:39:07 PM] Jamaros: Sorry, no more spiders.
[4/3/2013 11:39:35 PM] Khiro: Yeah, but I'm guessing you'll see more before we see daylight.
[4/3/2013 11:39:45 PM] Jamaros: Khiro, not now, please.
[4/3/2013 11:39:47 PM] Amara: Amara squirms a bit.
[4/3/2013 11:39:54 PM] Jamaros: Can we just get moving again.
[4/3/2013 11:40:00 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I can deal with spiders, and we still have to rest for the night.
[4/3/2013 11:40:01 PM] Khiro: We need to rest for the night.
[4/3/2013 11:40:13 PM] Khiro: That was the whole point to coming here.
[4/3/2013 11:40:22 PM] Jamaros: Maybe so, but do you really want to do it with sleeping beauty here?
[4/3/2013 11:40:42 PM] Jamaros: Suppose she wakes up in the middle of the night and decides sleeping targets are easier to bump off?
[4/3/2013 11:40:42 PM] Josie: Kalanor: She's tied up. I can manacle her to the wall if you want, but we *are* letting her go before we leave.
[4/3/2013 11:40:46 PM] Khiro: Well, no, not after you shoved poison down her throat.
[4/3/2013 11:41:06 PM] Khiro: If she was ever going to be amiable before, she's not now.
[4/3/2013 11:41:50 PM] Jamaros: Well, it's not like the deliberations were going so well to begin with.
[4/3/2013 11:42:11 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... let me talk to her when she wakes up.
[4/3/2013 11:42:23 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros snorts
[4/3/2013 11:42:23 PM] Khiro: She's not likely to listen to a thing you say.
[4/3/2013 11:42:34 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I can be very... persuasive.
[4/3/2013 11:42:34 PM] Amara: Do you really think that wise?
[4/3/2013 11:42:44 PM] Khiro: I can Charm her, but that only lasts for so long.
[4/3/2013 11:43:00 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't need spells, just my mouth.
[4/3/2013 11:43:06 PM] Khiro: ...
[4/3/2013 11:43:07 PM] Khiro: Hah.
[4/3/2013 11:43:10 PM] Jamaros: ...dude...not touching that.
[4/3/2013 11:43:11 PM | Removed 11:43:33 PM] Amara: This message has been removed.
[4/3/2013 11:43:24 PM] Amara: smirks.
[4/3/2013 11:43:36 PM] Jamaros: ...but he is right, we need sleep, so let's get some shut eye.
[4/3/2013 11:43:48 PM] Josie: He blinks, and flushes--you can tell even *with* the black skin--and folds his arms tightly. "Not like *that.*"
[4/3/2013 11:44:49 PM] Jamaros: Friends, I'm still woozy with poison, I almost died several times.  Let's get some sleep, and we can try and put the pieces back together when we wake up.
[4/3/2013 11:44:57 PM] Khiro: Right.
[4/3/2013 11:44:59 PM] Amara: I agree.
[4/3/2013 11:45:20 PM] Josie: Kalanor: All right. Lift her up, I'll chain her to ... to the stove.
[4/3/2013 11:45:34 PM] Jamaros: ...right, Khiro, some help?
[4/3/2013 11:45:37 PM] Khiro: Khiro nods.
[4/3/2013 11:45:42 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros lifts her up
[4/3/2013 11:46:07 PM] Josie: Kalanor takes out a set of manacles and uses them to chain and lock Tae Li to the stove.
[4/3/2013 11:46:19 PM] Jamaros: So, who gets what bed?
[4/3/2013 11:46:29 PM] Josie: Kalanor: There's only one bed.
[4/3/2013 11:46:38 PM] Khiro: I'll sleep on th efloor.  I only need four hours or so of trancing.
[4/3/2013 11:46:45 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Plus the couch.
[4/3/2013 11:47:06 PM] Josie: Kalanor: And yes, we're elves. Khiro, you take the first watch, I'll take the second.
[4/3/2013 11:47:15 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros moves closer to Amara
[4/3/2013 11:47:22 PM | Edited 11:47:28 PM] Josie: Kalanor: If you *trust* me to do it.
[4/3/2013 11:47:25 PM] Jamaros: So, I guess it's just us humans and one bed
[4/3/2013 11:47:38 PM] Amara: It *is* a big bed.
[4/3/2013 11:47:39 PM] Josie: Kalanor blushes again.
[4/3/2013 11:47:49 PM] Josie: It is indeed a very big bed.
[4/3/2013 11:48:19 PM] Jamaros: ...well, we should also set up watch for Tae Li
[4/3/2013 11:48:47 PM] Jamaros: Khiro, why don't you take the first watch since you don't actually need sleep?
[4/3/2013 11:48:56 PM] Khiro: I was going to anyway.
[4/3/2013 11:49:01 PM] Jamaros: Ok then.
[4/3/2013 11:49:26 PM] Jamaros: Kalanor, I trust you need us for something anyway, if we lasted this long, so I assume you won't kill us in our sleep.
[4/3/2013 11:49:57 PM] Josie: Kalanor: You have my word.
[4/3/2013 11:50:02 PM] Jamaros: *to Amara* so...after you, my lady?
[4/3/2013 11:50:13 PM] Khiro: Go sleep.  Just keep it down.
[4/3/2013 11:50:19 PM] Amara: Amara skips into the bedroom.
[4/3/2013 11:50:31 PM] Josie: (And if you wanna RP being alone together make sure you invite the DM into the room.)
[4/3/2013 11:50:44 PM] Jamaros: Jamaros follows, too tired to skip
[4/3/2013 11:51:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor eyes Khiro.
[4/3/2013 11:51:57 PM] Khiro: Go ahead, get some rest.
[4/3/2013 11:52:12 PM] Josie: Then he settles onto one end of the couch. Cira hops onto his lap and then turns around. Then turns around again. Kalanor winces, and Cira sits, finally, wings elegantly folded.
[4/3/2013 11:52:39 PM] Khiro: Khiro sits down on the floor, pulling out a book for reading.
[4/3/2013 11:53:04 PM] Khiro: (("How To Serve Man."))
[4/3/2013 11:53:12 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... thanks.
[4/3/2013 11:53:20 PM] Khiro: For what?
[4/3/2013 11:54:29 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Not helping them kill me. Or that crazy woman.
[4/3/2013 11:54:50 PM] Khiro: Mmm.  We have enough problems.
[4/3/2013 11:55:22 PM] Khiro: We were just trying to scare her into working with us.
[4/3/2013 11:55:36 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... oh.
[4/3/2013 11:56:22 PM] Josie: Kalanor: ... well, that's embarassing. Sorry, didn't mean to ruin the ploy.
[4/3/2013 11:56:32 PM] Khiro: It wasn't going well anyway.
[4/3/2013 11:56:39 PM] Josie: He scritches Cira, who moves to make it easier.
[4/3/2013 11:56:41 PM] Khiro: She really hates drow.
[4/3/2013 11:57:01 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Who doesn't?
[4/3/2013 11:57:18 PM] Khiro: Drow, I would assume.
[4/3/2013 11:57:38 PM] Josie: Kalanor: You would be wrong in that assumption.
[4/3/2013 11:57:56 PM] Khiro: So a rival house grabbed your sister?  Why?
[4/3/2013 11:58:10 PM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't know. I really don't.
[4/3/2013 11:58:19 PM] Josie: Kalanor: Some kind of leverage, obviously, but...
[4/3/2013 11:58:45 PM] Josie: Kalanor: A forced marriage? Torture? She doesn't have any information worth knowing but they couldn't know that. Or maybe it's just blackmail, pure and simple.
[4/3/2013 11:59:40 PM] Khiro: Blackmail?
[12:00:11 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Maybe they're hoping to get money or information out of my family.
[12:00:18 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Extortion.
[12:00:21 AM] Khiro: Ransom.
[12:00:25 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Yes.
[12:00:39 AM] Khiro: Hmm.  What do you know about this house?  What can we expect?
[12:00:54 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I'm not even certain which one it was.
[12:01:29 AM] Khiro: Then how are we to rescue her?
[12:02:25 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I have suspicions. Once we're there, we'll find out.
[12:02:53 AM] Khiro: ... I know you're still hiding something.  I don't think it's relevant at this point, but I'm curious what it is.
[12:03:40 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I'm not supposed to be like this.
[12:04:05 AM] Khiro: Like what?
[12:04:36 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Like... like *this.*
[12:04:40 AM] Josie: He gestures at himself.
[12:04:49 AM] Khiro: An elf?
[12:05:35 AM] Josie: Kalanor: No, I *am* Drow. I'm Drow. I'm proud of that.
[12:05:59 AM] Khiro: Blue-eyed?  Bipedal?  Male?
[12:07:35 AM] Josie: Kalanor pales a bit.
[12:07:51 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... not supposed to be like this.
[12:07:59 AM] Khiro: .... male?
[12:08:51 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Are you going to make me *say* it? Haven't I been humiliated enough for one day? Isn't it humiliating enough to *be* this?
[12:09:14 AM] Khiro: I manage it.
[12:10:19 AM] Josie: Kalanor: It's not the same for your people. And you've always been one.
[12:10:40 AM] Khiro: ...no, I suppose not.
[12:10:49 AM] Khiro: Why did they change you like this?  To humiliate you?
[12:11:48 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Yes. If I'd had much ambition I wouldn't have it anymore.
[12:12:04 AM] Khiro: Have what?
[12:15:35 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Ambition.
[12:15:49 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I'm supposed to be a woman, all right?
[12:17:37 AM] Khiro: I had figured that.  And you can't go back to your family like this.
[12:18:11 AM] Josie: Kalanor: No.
[12:18:55 AM] Khiro: .... so you needed to hire outsiders.
[12:19:04 AM] Khiro: That makes sense.
[12:19:54 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I was desperate.
[12:20:07 AM] Khiro: And thus you got us.
[12:21:15 AM] Josie: Kalanor: She's my sister. I'm not letting her die just because I now have a dick.
[12:22:40 AM] Khiro: You think they mean to kill her?
[12:24:06 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't know. That would be bad, but not as bad as... other things I can think of.
[12:24:19 AM] Khiro: Ah.
[12:24:44 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Do you have any siblings?
[12:24:50 AM] Khiro: Three.
[12:25:10 AM] Khiro: One full sister, two half-brothers.
[12:25:29 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Then you understand.
[12:25:29 AM] Khiro: I have a mother, a father, and another father.
[12:25:49 AM] Khiro: ...yeah, I do.
[12:26:51 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... how does one have *two* fathers?
[12:27:24 AM] Khiro: I'm from Solitaire.
[12:27:40 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I'm not really that familiar with topside.
[12:31:00 AM] Khiro: Multiple marriages are pretty common.
[12:31:19 AM] Khiro: In my family's case, a wife, a husband, and a husband.
[12:31:27 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Yes, but that wouldn't give you two fathers.
[12:31:27 AM] Khiro: All married to each other.
[12:31:34 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... all of them?
[12:31:48 AM] Khiro: I only have one birth father, yes, but the other helped raise me.
[12:31:53 AM] Khiro: Yep.
[12:32:17 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Even the man with the...
[12:32:36 AM] Josie: He gets a sudden horrified look on his face and focuses on petting the cat.
[12:32:49 AM] Khiro: Yes, both my fathers are married, too.
[12:33:19 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh, well, that happens with Drow too, it's just not *formal*. I mean, it's always first husband, second husband, and the husbands aren't married.
[12:34:01 AM] Khiro: Khiro nods.  "Sometimes it's two women and one man, too.  Or two women and two men."
[12:34:24 AM] Josie: Kalanor: *Two* women? How does that work? How do they know who's in charge?
[12:34:43 AM] Khiro: There isn't, necessarily, someone in charge.
[12:35:55 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... and that works.
[12:36:07 AM] Khiro: Sure.
[12:37:07 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Weird.
[12:37:37 AM] Khiro: It's not perfect, but what is?
[12:38:20 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I don't know. I've never thought much of marriage either way.
[12:39:06 AM] Khiro: Me neither.
[12:40:53 AM] Josie: Kalanor: You don't have any spouses, I take it?
[12:41:11 AM] Khiro: No, I don't.
[12:41:25 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... what do you want to get out of all this?
[12:41:42 AM] Khiro: All of what?
[12:42:03 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Being down here. Helping Mayala. Is it just the money?
[12:43:05 AM] Khiro: That's a part of it.  Knowledge is another.  There's a lot to be learned here.  Drow magics, magic items lost in the Underdark, that sort of thing.
[12:43:48 AM] Khiro: Also, because I have a sister.
[12:45:15 AM] Josie: Kalanor smiles a little bit. "... well, if we live through this I'll try to make sure you get all that."
[12:45:33 AM] Khiro: Well, that would be great.
[12:46:29 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I won't be the heir anymore, but I do have  assets of my own.
[12:46:48 AM] Khiro: Why wouldn't you be the heir anymore?
[12:46:57 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I'm male, obviously.
[12:47:13 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Even if I'm turned back it won't change that I *was*.
[12:47:21 AM] Khiro: Oh.
[12:47:31 AM] Khiro: Well, I'm sure you can be changed back.
[12:47:49 AM] Josie: Kalanor: No one will ever let me forget it.
[12:48:04 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I'll have to find somewhere else to go... but it's not important.
[12:50:19 AM] Khiro: Plenty of places to go on the surface.
[12:51:46 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I've had light-training, but I've not spent time up there.
[12:52:03 AM] Khiro: It's not so bad.
[12:52:27 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I'm not looking forward to it. I don't know anyone up there.
[12:53:00 AM] Khiro: Well, you know us, for what it's worth.
[12:53:39 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Half of you have tried to kill me today. ... or threatened to, I guess.
[12:55:43 AM] Khiro: ... yeah, that's true.
[12:55:56 AM] Josie: Kalanor: You didn't.
[12:56:01 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I have an idea.
[12:56:11 AM] Khiro: Oh?
[12:56:31 AM] Josie: Kalanor: A way for you to get what you want and for me to... have a safe place to go if I survive all this.
[12:58:10 AM] Khiro: ... do continue.
[12:58:24 AM] Josie: Kalanor: We could get engaged.
[12:59:08 AM] Josie: Kalanor: If we got married you'd be entitled to half my property. Everything if I died.
[12:59:33 AM] Amara: (( say yes and I'll totally be your bridesmaid! ))
[12:59:40 AM] Khiro: ....I.. wha?
[12:59:59 AM] Jamaros: ((Wow, did I miss something or what?))
[1:00:29 AM] Josie: Kalanor: A business arrangement. You'd get my property and I'd get ties that should keep me safe topside.
[1:01:03 AM] Khiro: ... you're a mage, yes?  You have magic.
[1:01:36 AM] Josie: Kalanor shrugs. "Song-spells, chanting. You've heard it more than once."
[1:02:10 AM] Khiro: Still, it's enough.  This... could work.  Solitaire is a magocracy, you see.
[1:02:28 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I helped you get past the chasm. Or I tried to.
[1:02:46 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Oh. I'm no wizard. Nothing near as powerful.
[1:03:14 AM] Khiro: I don't think you're trying to betray us.  The issue is that I'm not really.... into guys.  But of course, you're not really a guy.
[1:04:00 AM] Josie: Kalanor: No. I'll hang myself if I can't be changed back.
[1:04:59 AM] Khiro: All right.
[1:05:03 AM] Khiro: .... I agree.
[1:06:44 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Are you sure?
[1:07:44 AM] Khiro: ...yeah.
[1:08:29 AM] Josie: He picks up the cat and sets her on the couch; she opens one eye, rolls it, and goes back to sleep.
[1:09:40 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... worst engagement ceremony ever, but I don't have a contract and  I... don't think it's much of a present, but here.
[1:09:59 AM] Josie: Kalanor takes his black cloak off and hands it to Khiro.
[1:10:31 AM] Khiro: Khiro looks at it.
[1:10:54 AM] Josie: Kalanor: Traditionally we exchange presents, or the more powerful house bestows a present.
[1:11:25 AM] Khiro: Oh.  I... really don't have much to give you in return.
[1:12:41 AM] Josie: Kalanor: I assume my house is more powerful anyway.
[1:12:59 AM] Khiro: Probably.
[1:13:03 AM] Khiro: I don't know.
[1:13:52 AM] Josie: Kalanor shrugs. "... if you could just stand up for a moment?"
[1:14:04 AM] Khiro: Khiro nods, and stands up.
[1:15:46 AM] Josie: Kalanor gives him an awkward peck on the cheek, then sits down again, grabbing the cat onto his lap again.
[1:16:13 AM] Khiro: Okay, then.  Huh.  Been a weird day.
[1:16:27 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... I just hope she's okay.
[1:17:02 AM] Khiro: Well, we'll find out.
[1:19:19 AM] Josie: Kalanor: ... right. ... wake me up in four hours.
[1:19:38 AM] Khiro: Khiro nods.  "Will do."
[1:19:49 AM] Josie: Kalanor trances.
