It overwhelmed the feeble processing unit of the Guardian, which mangled its programming, except for the core "Protect and isolate sources of danger" part.
The weird bit is it doesn't seem like it was "attacked" in the standard sense. The golem registered no offense, no penetration of its internal security. The signal came in completely passively. I'm almost certain it was accidental corruption.
